Loyola goes 88-89 in MVC, makes the tournament twice in eight years, and wins the title 3 times.

Wardle in 6 is 48-63 and had to go through a complete true rebuild (which Loyola didn’t). Never won the title and haven’t finished higher than 3rd (which we hadn’t finished that high since 2000-2001). Wins the tournament twice and danced twice (well minus COVID)… exactly the same amount of tourney titles and appearances in two fewer years.

While I want long term success when asked would you rather be Creighton/UNI (tournament masters) or Wichita most fans would prefer Creighton/UNI. I’d wager to say that 90% of Loyola fans wouldn’t even get that reference because y’all were never in the MVC long enough to, you know, actually BE a true part of the Valley.

And how did Wardle do in the tournament? You know since that’s what actually matters.

Loyola just lost and finished 4th seed in the Valley.

Please reply if you'd like more Loyola fun facts.

Playing that 2:30 game in a building full of Bradley and UNI fans as a de facto road game is just awful for them. I feel truly terrible about it. I was up all night crying about it.

Maybe everyone could wear ugly scarves to make them feel better?

Yeah see this is why you don’t get it. Y’all get lucky with a Final Four and you think you can tell the rest of the conference their business.

We almost got Izzo fined which is good enough for me, win or lose.

Was beating Illinois and getting to the sweet sixteen last year luck too? Nobody cares if you almost beat Michigan State, winning is all that matters.

I agree with this.

There is nothing worse in sports than the "we almost beat" or "our record would have been if we won game x,y, z".

I think it stinks Loyola is leaving the Valley. They were really good for the league the last 4-5 seasons. I prefer Loyola over UIC. The move - like most conference moves - won't move the needle for Loyola really - other than feelings and that is what drives a lot of this.

I'll buy you a beverage at BPV to make you feel better. I want to make sure you (and every single other non-Loyola fan) is in a good mood and enjoying themselves at 2:30 pm on Friday.

I hope the 200 actual fans that Loyola brings to St Louis are all p****d and driving back towards Chicago at 5 PM on Friday evening. This should be a "home game" for Bradley.

Okay, then you get ‘63 (when I believe the NCAA didn’t carry as much weight as the NIT, don’t quote me on it) and we get

‘57, ‘60, ‘64, and ‘82. Oh, and that one time we blew the NIT final and the NCAA Final in the same year against the same school on purpose. (Yes subject to debate but there was rampant point shaving)

Sweet 16 runs are fun (as are Elite 8 and Final Four) but if your ultimate measure is “did you win” then no one in the Valley has “won” in over 30 years. I believe your original brag was conference success vs years in the conference. I used BW as a counter so you moved the goalposts to “well what did you do in the tourney?”

To me the measures of success (because no one from the Valley is going to win the Championship anytime soon) is first: overall record and regular season conference title (Bradley hasn’t been good at this), second: conference tournament championships (even), third: record against rivals (doesn’t really do to compare here because this is an internal marker for me). Winning tournament games is gravy every year and can engage the rest of the conference if the team is likable.
