Thats because Mast shoots threes and Sturtz can't. Mast and Sturtz are both top 10 players in the league. I had Mast 1st team and Sturtz 2nd but both players should definitely be closer to 1st team than they are to 3rd. Also in MVC games (which is all I - and many others - consider), Mast averaged 13.9 and 8.7 while Sturtz averaged 12.2 and 8. Close but Mast is slightly better. Add in that Bradley beat Drake twice and those are the reasons why I had Mast over Sturtz.

Who on earth do you take off that first team to Mast on? What player is he better than on that list and the top part of the second team?

I had Mast first team and Terry second. I believe Mast is the best and most important player on Bradley.

I get that voters consider results but aren't these awards designed to reward the league's best players, regardless of the success (or lack of) their team?

The people that didn't have Mosley or Green on their ballot should have their voters rights revoked. Similarly to that Chicago sports media clown that said he'd never vote for Aaron Rodgers for MVP.

Love Antonio, but I think it's just a matter of who he replaces. I don't know who you take off to put him on. You already said voters should have their ballots revoked for not voting for Green or Mosley for POY, so which of the other three do you replace with Reeves?

We need to be better than 8th. Right or wrong, that's how this stuff works.

Agree the Birds need to be better than 8th. No doubt there.

Who does he replace? Roberts. Green, Prim, and Mosley were locks. Williamson had a great year. If he had a worse year, he'd probably be on the first team anyway for The MVC Lifetime Achievement Award. We're Redbird fans, dude. Reeves should've replace Roberts.

It's something stupid that I'm getting worked up over but just feel for the kid. He's gotta be thinking, "No preseason accolades, then I go lead the league in scoring, and still don't make first-team? What else can I do?" As you pointed out. the answer is win more.

IMO Bradley shouldn't have had two players on the First Team (especially if using MVC only numbers - which I do.) I would have put Noah Carter on the first team and Terry Roberts on the second team.

Honestly - I'm not sure Devries is a second team guy. His reputation has played a huge part in this. Mast has better numbers than Devries across the board. Scoring a bit better, rebounding a lot better, they shoot the same from three, Mast better from the floor in general. In fact, in league only games Devries isn't in the top 15 in any of the main categories. His name doesn't appear anywhere.

I think Bradley fans (and trying not to speak for everyone) see Mast as higher on the list for accolades than Terry Roberts - while the rest of the league has Roberts ahead (clearly).

I would have to go back and look but it's not very often the league's leading rebounder isn't a First or Second team guy.

I am not in the "Reink Mast" got screwed camp. Third team for a sophomore is nothing to sneeze at.

Good thing the league's leading scorer was not only voted first team, but also player of the year.

Reeves named Captain of Most Improved Team.

Well deserved. 12 ppg last year to 20+ this year. No preseason accolades from fighting to be one the 1st-Team All Conference.

Sisley of the UE Aces selected for the MVC All Freshmen Team. I cannot think of another Ace ever selected to this team.

Simmons didn't play a lot of Freshman, except his son, so I doubt there was one during his term.

UE has a pair of nice freshmen in Sisley and Preston Phillips. Will take a lot more than that to move things forward from rock bottom.

I didn't know 19.1>20.5 and 516>627.
