A game to the level of the 2004 Title Game for a CBS audience seems like a pretty good deal for the league.

That was the last one on ESPN on Monday Night and it's a shame it wasn't in that CBS slot.


That was a long dark drive on I-44 that night.

Actually the 2005 title game was the last Monday ESPN special. 2006 BU/SIU was the CBS premiere.

Most fan bases generally head back home after the Saturday slate nowadays. I can’t imagine how empty the Final was back when it was on a Monday night.


The championship games back then on Monday night had about 8000 in attendance. I think the year SIU and Creighton were ranked they had about 15k.
