Oh sorry, I see Bradley made the sweet 16 during the Bush administration. My mistake -- definitely not a moribund program.

Gotta laugh at somebody who goes out of his way to sign up to a forum he's never been a member of in order to gloat, then pees himself in his first attempts. That's hysterical

But congratulations on looking up the Sweet 16 on Wikipedia! You clearly weren’t aware of it in your last post.

Btw, how’s the dignity you signed up here to lecture everyone about going?

Hey I did say "definitely not" moribund, didn't I? That's high praise!

Current KenPom rankings:
10 MVC
11 A-10

If you flip Loyola:
10 A-10
11 MVC

So if the MVC is all sad sack programs, what’s the A-10?

Don’t forget to add Murray State and Belmont.

I’m sure this guy doesn’t remember when Loyola was known for drawing flies and losing games for 30+ years before 2018. No worries, they’ll see it again.

I’m pretty sure that most programs in the MVC (except maybe delusional MSU fans) are proud to be in the MVC. The A10 is not a better league and will certainly not be with our new members.

Why are we delusional ; if you think other MVC schools don't kick the tires or have discussions about potential opportunities then your either naive or stupid. Our basketball fans love the Valley, our football fans just have hopes for FBS. And we do have those who believe a league with a private/public mix doesn't work well, and just as Loyola voiced, would rather be in a league with all large state schools with similar dynamics . Is what it is;but I love the Valley and most of my peers do as well.

What’s you’re definition of better in this context? All I care about is the program I root for having a better chance to get into March Madness, the A10 seems to do that. I’ve got nothing against the MVC, it’s been good to Loyola and Loyola has been good to it in return. I will say I’m excited for the A10 vs MVC rivalry, I look forward to coming back in here and ruffling some feathers. I’ll probably avoid this place too if y’all kick our ass at some point lol.

Honest question...if the thing that people are hanging their hats on are tournament appearances (as the Bradley folks have pointed out 2 tournaments in 4 years is awesome) why are we looking at conference RPI or Hacksaw to see what is best? Those things dont get tournament bids and tournament bids are the name of the game.

For all the Wichita Is Not a State and Creighton s*** talk (which I enjoy, was great to see Drake beat them last year) they're making tournaments so I'm not entirely sure they're as irrelevant as folks say, they might be out of mind which makes perfect sense since none of them play us anymore. But out of mind to MVC fans doesn't mean irrelevant. UIC for example has been irrelevant to MVC schools (except for Valpo, ISUr and Loyola for conference, rivalry and Yaklich reasons) but now they're very relevant but their on-court product is literally unchanged from November when they were irrelevant to March when they're front of mind.

Creighton is just a very good program, but Wichita finished behind 5 MVC teams in kenpom and didn't play in a postseason tournament.

Totally, they had a bad year this year and maybe are on the way down.

They also made the tournament and won a conference title a year ago. If folks are lauding Sweet 16s within the last 25 years how are we only looking at the last 6 months of results for the teams we dislike? Feels like folks just wanting to dump on them (which again i totally get and is fine) but we cant expect folks to revere the 2006 Sweet 16 while we zero in on a what have you done for me right now attitude for others.

I don’t think anyone is asking to “revere” Bradley’s 2006 Sweet 16. It was just brought up in response to the Loyola fan’s “Nobody can imagine Bradley making the S16” self pwn.

The correlation between higher NET/Kenpom conference ratings and more bids isn’t perfect but it’s certainly highly correlated. Ultimately it’s up to individual teams to earn bids and the A10 and MVC are both perfectly capable of offering opportunities to build an at large resume.
