Why is it funny? Kent has some potential and didn't want to sit behind Henry for another year. He's at least proven he's a valley level rotation player as an underclassmen. Why not reunite with your hs teammate in a spot with more PT available.

He will be in the Sycs rotation. He can't be a starter and big minutes player on a good team - but for 15 minutes a night off the bench? For sure.

I'm not saying I don't think that it makes sense (although am I am curious if Jayson himself thinks that he's going to go in and start), I just find the situation amusing. I'm sure Valpo fans can empathize.

I honestly think Kent is a little better than that. Don't think he's amazing but I think he can be a decent starter

Kent struggled shooting (26% on 3s, 64% on FTs) and taking care of the ball (42 turnovers, 13 assists). Henry deciding to come back really hurt his projected minutes. The kid has potential and I can understand the move. Good luck to him.

As a Bradley fan, Kent was a nice surprise at the beginning of the year. As the season wore on though, he was not a consistent outside shooter as his season 3 point percentage never got above 30%, despite an outstanding 8 game stretch where he shot it at a 40% clip. He's got some nice length, but he's an average defender at best, and does not handle the ball well. He should not be a starter on a team in the top half of the Valley standings. It just shows you where Indiana State is at as far as needing guys.

If he could improve his outside shooting and get it into the 35% range, then he could be a solid Valley player, but he is definitely not there now.

Who does he start over? As of now (pending more portal submissions), Indiana State is probably starting Larry, Bledson, Neese, Henry and Stephens? Plus they are bringing Avila in. Plus anyone else I'm forgetting about and whoever else Schertz can bring in with his abundance of scholarships from running his guys off.

Added.

Birds were heavily involved with him in HS. I believe he was in their final 4. Of course, new staff and what not.

Chicago kid that went to Iowa State then back home and now on the move again.
