Missouri State Hires Beth Cunningham

The Lady Bears have a new coach , and it's a big name hire , Beth Morgan Cunningham , former Associate HC at both Notre Dame and currently Duke. With Muffet McGraw as HC , they led ND to a natty and annual showdowns with Conn in the BE. When Ivy got the HC gig at ND when McGraw retired, Cunningham went to Duke to work with Kara Lawson the last 2 years. Anyway, Welcome Coach Cunningham

Interesting; the three MVC coach openings have all gone to a P-5 Associate HC . MSU followed the model they set with both the Harper and Mox hires, looking for that mix of P-5 experience and some HC background if there also. SIU got a solid hire in the Texas A&M Associate HC, someone I know was at least on the initial list at MSU as well , & she should be able to recruit well in her home state . Bradley also went the P-5 AHC route with the Northwestern hire. Found the whole Bradley situation strange , and assume there was more to the story, as it was just a year ago, they were all gung ho with how Gorski had built the program up to compete with the top MVC programs . I was never impressed with her, but still, Bradley seemed to feel they were where they wanted to be program wise and then everything just went sour this past year and she bails . Weird. But anyway, at least if Bradley is determined to play to Evansville and UIC levels, they'll look better on the sideline doing it this year
