Trust me, no one is panicking about anything Evansville does or doesn't do - that's the problem. The rest of the league is simply tired of the incompetence they've demonstrated for the past two decades.

But back to your attempt to flex: Nothing I said is incorrect. UE fired its entire staff with no plan, at the wrong time of year, then waited three weeks to hire a guy they could have had in three hours.

They will have a make-shift roster full of stop-gap players who are borderline DI players with a reduced preparation timeline.

But congratulations, UE was able to make a hire.

I hope Ragland is the guy who can make something our of the Aces.

You were acting like an idiot bc you thought the timeline from 1995 is the same timeline in 2022.
I called your stupid butt on it and was right

No one in Evansville is happy with what happened over the past 20 years; but that didn’t mean there was some reason to continue with Lickliter or think there wasn’t time this spring to start changing the course of the program.

I think one obvious thing here is that Ragland clearly wasn't the first choice for the job. Of course that doesn't mean he won't do a great job. Nothing guarantees success or failure, obviously.

As mentioned, if Ragland was their guy they would have hired him right away. He wasn't. They got rebuked by a few guys and then got to Ragland. It happens all the time but let's not act like Ragland was a slam dunk from the jump.

Also could have fired Lickliter on March 3rd instead of May 9th.

Evansville is going to awful. There isn't any amount of optimism that is going to convince me, and 99% of this board, otherwise because of the circumstances. The over/under on league wins is probably 3.5 and they've got two extra chances this year plus they won't see two of the top teams twice.

I'll guarantee that all of the 11 other schools are hoping that Evansville is their 'Single Play-Away' opponent.

Nobody would ever publicly admit that the guy they hired was the 4th choice lol. That’s just bad PR.

I don't give a damn whether he was their first choice, or their last choice. All I know for sure is that the AD said he is the only one they offered the job to which probably means they did get some turn downs. Ziggy has been honest, and up front, with everything he has done so far. From what I have seen so far, they hit a home run with Rags. He has put together a staff, and team, in record time. We will see how good they are. There are two teams I hope we can beat this season, and they aren't very far from EVV. One a little to the North, and the other, a little to the West.

No one is ever “officially” offered the job unless the school knows they will accept it. It’s all semantics. This is how it works.

I agree that on June 13, 2022 Evansville has a pretty full roster and coaching staff. Slam dunk job by Ragland.

I don’t really care what you think, but for the others reading this: it’s almost impossible to explain how awful Lick was. He might have held on until May simply bc they couldn’t find him! He literally didn’t speak to any of the players for a Month after the season was over.

Ragland has never called a TO, and UE is likely 10pts better with him on the sideline.
Say what you want, but the timeline didn’t hurt a thing in Evansville and the group on campus today would likely beat last years group by 10+ right now.
