SIU is sitting at 7.5/8 point underdogs. I worry a bit about Oklahoma State's talented frontcourt just shutting down the game but if SIU can hit their 3's, they have more than a shot.

Missouri St wins their opener vs in state foe MO S&T , an old rival from the D-2 days in the MIAA. Bears win 82-47; shoot 55% fg, 42% 3pt and hold S&T to 30% fg, 26% 3pt. Bears out rebound S&T 46-23. Bears used 11 and all played 12 minutes or more. Bears have announced redshirts for 6'7 freshman Jonathan Dunn, and 6'0 David Hill [ Alize Johnson's bro] , and played without Maryland transfer James Graham who's out indefinitely with an achilles strain, and & 7'0 Dawson Carper , also currently injured.

Bears were led by 6'6 Arkansas transfer Chance Moore with 18 pts, 6 rbs [ 3/5 from trey] , 6'2 Oklahoma transfer Alston Mason who had 13 [ 3/4 from trey] and juco transfer 6'9 Jonathon Mogbo who had 11 pts [ 5/5 fg] 7rbs and 3 blks. Moore and Mason came off the bench as the starting backcourt was Matthew Lee, Kendle Moore , and Bryan Trimble , who interestingly, all 3 played on NCAA tournament teams last year.

Gets tougher quick with a trip to play @ BYU and then a home game vs Middle Tenn St.

Man that is a big win for this program and for the conference this year! This team has won pretty and ugly. Both games had a stretch where Lance Jones was on fire. This time, it was the winning plays by Jones in the last 2 minutes.
