I watched the Northwestern vs Illinois game tonight and it was refreshing to see a Floorburn U defense in practice. It was obviously a mistake for SIU to move on from Chris but the Bears could have likely kept him as an assistant for about $1 million per season. Instead, he’s leading Northwestern to an Elite 8 or better performance. The Valley will always suffer as long as they let great coaches escape.

He’s already proven a heck of a ceiling. He didn’t stabilizie and sustain - but he’s had over a decade to learn.

BTW, good win by Northwestern last night. I don't follow Illinois that closely but I thought that team was better in November than it is now.

Lowery was offered the Duke job when Coach K retired. He turned them down.
