Murray and Carbondale are true rural college towns where the Universities drive the local economy. Every town has its share of questionable people, especially Peoria. That town resembles a ghost town ever since Caterpillar bolted.[/quote]

You took my comment as a slight. It wasn’t.

Murray and Carbondale are basically the same place.

It’s like someone in Morton calling someone from Metamora a name. They are basically the same place.

The Murray-SIU rivalry isn't new, the teams have been playing each other for generations, just not as much lately.

I can see this becoming Murray's biggest rivalry game, at least for the fans. I would have said Belmont is Murray's biggest basketball rival, but due to Belmont's lack of an engaged fanbase, I can see that dropping to No. 2 pretty quickly.

One of my all-time favorite games ever played at the Bank was 2003 I believe, Mick Cronin vs Matt Painter to a nearly sold out and rowdy crowd. When the Racers came from double digits down to take the lead in the 2nd half the roof was nearly blown off the building lol, loudest I ever heard it. Yep, this could be the 2nd best rivalry ever behind only Western Kentucky for me.

Really bizarre ending to the first half in the I74 rivalry. 3 shot foul and a tech for 5 free throws.

Murray has a few existing rivalries (Western Kentucky, Austin Peay, and Belmont). Watching this Tuesday and interacting on social media has me hyped. It felt like a ramped Peay game. The fan bases are 100x more wild in this conference and I’m all for it.

Watching the war on 74 with no real horse in the race because, outside of uni, i hate all other valley teams equally.

I can't say there has been a really bad call or really bad no call in the last 5 minutes of regulation and overtime. But at the same time the officiating had been egregiously one sided with seemingly every call going Bradley's way. The officials frequently calling a foul on one end and nearly the same thing going uncalled on the other end. I think Bradley made like one field goal in the last 10 minutes of play.

The entire game set basketball back 50 years.

Bradley tried as hard as it could to give the game to ISU. They could not have been any worse for 35 minutes. The Redbirds would not oblige, however, and blew a game they had in their grasp for the entire second half.

Can't disagree, Bradley played terribly at home and the Redbirds let them get away with it. I figured BU would come out ready to play after the home loss but they didn't. Late January can be a grind on these players, maybe they are worn down.

ISU currently has no answer defensively for players the caliber of Rienk Mast. He'd get a lot more than 10 shots in an overtime game if it were up to me.

Quality effort by ISU after that clunker against Valpo at home. Tired of moral victories though.
