Joe Petrakis is ISU Red’s first player to hit the portal. I’m sure I speak for other Redbird fans in saying we had higher hopes for him when he transferred in. Finished the season with 1.9 point and 1.3 rebound per game averages. Shot only 24 percent from the field.

Remember these transfers when MVC fans lament the “big schools” coming to poach their players.

Many of these MVC transfers are players the fans want to move on from in hopes of getting someone better.

You can’t have it both ways.

That one hurts; he was pretty raw, but so athletic and just developing. I'd say it doesn't hurt us that much as long as we keep ..............., but the minute i say that we'll probably lose them and more. Oh well, I've learned to not overreact until the dust settles and you see who stays, who left, and who you added.

Hutson is a nice get by UNI, I wish he would have stayed at Loyola but Drew didn’t give him enough minutes. He started using Hutson at the end of the season and realized his mistake too late. I liked him more than Golden, I was annoyed all season at the lack of his play time.

How is Rambler land feeling about Drew at this point? Your board seems annoyed at best...

Or one better, how about the Shocker fans.They might wish they were back in the Valley.

Do you get the sense Dana will be filling 7+ scholarships again and field a mostly new team next season?

Petrakis for ILST was a great teammate, but the on-court results left something to be desired. I'm guessing this is one of the first "tough" convos that Pedon had to have, as he cited depth as a major issue on the season. I anticipate one more xfer out of ILST, leaving them to fill 4 in the Spring. After having to fill an average of 6-8 in the spring over the last 5 or so years, It's nice to know there won't be complete roster turnover.

If any MVC fan wants/expects their coach to run off or have "tough conversations" with players who didn't produce to get them to leave - you then can't complain about the "big schools" getting transfers from the MVC.

You can't have both. Either you want everyone on the roster to stay their entire career, or you don't.

Plus, the NCAA is done granting 'run-off' waivers so your coach would have to be a real dick to run kids off if they've already used their free transfer like Petrakis has....
