He gets them because he's been around forever, is really well respected nationally and has gone to tournaments like this and won games. Last time we played at Atlantis, we played in the championship game. Maui is about the only major one we haven't been to and I know he's worked his ass off to get into that one but it just hasn't happened yet.
Jacobsen isn't worried about scheduling tough games, he has a lifetime contract with UNI. He almost always has the best schedule in the Valley. I really admire him for that. Other coaches are trying to keep their jobs and don't always schedule tough games only games they know they can win. Scheduling at the Valley level is tough, but too many coaches use that as an excuse to schedule poorly. Coaches know it is tougher to fire you IF you have a winning record. Barry Hinson was the master at it but he isn't the only coach to follow that premise. One of the first things Barry did when he got the SIU job was to schedule poorly and unfortunately Mullins has followed suit.
