Assuming the last name is related to Marcellus Sommerville, yes?

If that's the case, BU being in the final cut was likely a favor and show of respect from his dad. If (when?) he hits the portal, maybe he becomes a Brave?

Definitely. His dad Cellus runs a local nonprofit and this was likely a courtesy but if he hits the portal BU should be in the mix again.

Indiana State is my preseason #1 right now. Schertz is killing it.

I’m really liking how the rosters at Indiana St, Northern Iowa, Drake, Bradley, & Belmont are shaking out.

Agreed. I also think Missouri State has done a nice job. Didn’t lose the amount of guys they lost in past years.

Yeah, if things hold, we've very quietly, compared to past years, had a nice off season. Perhaps still a little thin at the post with just Bensen and Edwards, but we'll probably play some nonpost lineups at times . As big as any portal add is the return of pg Matthew Lee . Again if things hold, we're definitely better than we were last year just on the fact this will be the second year here for 8 Bears. Edwards for Mogbo is no worse than a wash, and Kramer is a big time shooter with 4 years eligibility and already used his transfer. Of our current 12 , 8 have used their 1 time transfer and 6 of those will still have eligibility following this year along with Ayres, Mayo, and Bensen .

That’s worth bringing up for sure. The talent of some of the players getting brought in this week is great, but most of them have multiple years of eligibility also. Obviously not all of them will pan out, and I’m sure some may still transfer again anyway. It’s still shaping up to be a good recruiting season so far, especially after some of the pickups this last week.

Don’t see any reason for MVC fans to wallow in self pity.

This, plus Missouri State's retention, and I think we're looking at some good progress next season.

I'll be interested to see Murray State, Illinois State and SIU next season.

I think the Valley will be better as a whole next season than it was this year.

I'm not sure I'd include Drake in there yet.....Bulldogs still have 5 or 6 slots to fill (depending on whether the NCAA approves a waiver for Darnell Brodie). A lot of question marks right now for Drake.
