Leons with 6 blocks and a steal last night against SIU. He's an incredibly fun player to watch when he's fully asserting himself and it seems like he's found a new gear these past few games. He's gotta be the clear favorite for DPOY.

Actually Avila and Devries numbers are very similar. Devries averages 22 to Avila’s 17. Both average 7 rebounds and 4 assists(Avila a little more on both). Devries shoots 45/36/80. Avila 55/40/81. Devries has 75 turnover to 53 and Devries averages 36 minutes a game to Avilas 30.

For the most part, certainly. But... averaging 5 extra points will do the trick when comparing guys head to head.

tucker is better. it is not really even close. If INSU didnt have kent, larry, and conwel? goggle man would be lucky to make 3rd team at that point. He is very useful if you have great players around him

Pretty easy when you’ve taken 160 more shots on the season. If Avila hits his season average of 55% on 160 more shots, he averages almost 24ppg and that’s if all those 160 are 2 point shots.

He couldn’t though. The reason his percentage is higher is because of the types shots he takes. DeVries is a future NBA player and often has to create his own contested shots off the dribble, pull-up, and iso situations.

If I want one dude in the Valley to take a shot with the clock winding down, it's Tucker. He's a more gifted shooter and can basically get a bucket anytime he wants.

But if I'm building a team from scratch, I'm taking Avila and am surrounding him with shooters. His passing is elite and he has the type of talent we rarely see, let alone at this level.

Xavier Johnson led the MVC in scoring and assists. Two other guys have done that and both won POY.

I'm not suggesting Xavier will win it - I just heard that nugget today and wanted to pass it along.
