I think Jake sees what Iowa State is doing using his system and wants to get more athletic and back to his roots. UNI is kind of the Virginia of the Valley and that's why we've slipped a little. Jake is fantastic but you have to have the players to make it work.

It's crazy to see all the transfers from Jacobsen/UNI. That's the one program that's been mostly immune over the years (the one asshole dad excepted).

Funny thing is to me Heise and Wolf were two of the more athletic guys. At least to my naked eye.

I always thought UNI was the gold standard when it came to player retention and immune to the portal flu. Tough to see them get hit with it. As strange as it sounds, there is a huge opportunity for Valpo, Evansville and ILST to make a jump next year. UNI in a bit of a rebuild, UIC, MOST, SIU in complete rebuild and the rumors around INST and Drake needing new HCs, which would put them in rebuild. The league might be pretty down next year with the HC turnover.
