4 out of 5 Trees starters in the portal. Haven’t seen news yet on Avila.

I thought Trees fans thought Larry was going to stay?

He and Avila were who I saw from sports writers to be rumored to stay. But plans change I guess

Avila and Swope are both going to SLU with Schertz. Larry might go back to Texas at one of their schools.

Former Brave Zek Montgomery is returning to Bradley for his senior season.

Zek had a nice sophomore year as a starter on the team that won the league. This past year he averaged 9.6 points and 4.4 rebounds a game at Rhode Island. He is a very talented player who can be up and down. He has great relationships with Duke Deen and Darius Hannah so hopefully that will help keep him motivated all the time.

Still a good get for Bradley.

Yep. BU returning a whole lot from its last two post-season teams. Obviously without some pieces, but it's hard to see how they're not the Valley favorite next season. Some might say that's by default with all the upheaval in the league, but any way you slice it, experience and maturity count for a whole lot in this conference. If Wardle can find consistency for an entire season in 24-25, he could be a hot commodity.

I'd give Bradley the Valley favorite for next year. Valpo should also not be a laughing stock as they are retaining their entire roster at time of post, and have added 2 new guys. Hopefully some of our guys develop into Valley athletes.

Chico Johnson just left Drake. We are down to three scholarship players. One of whom has never appeared in a game and two reserves.

We are reaching a point where the powerful mid-majors, (MVC, A-10, and maybe the MWC) need to band together and sue the NCAA. Decisions are being made only with the interest of Football and P6 schools in mind. Additionally, there should be some sort of penalty associated with transferring on schools at the end of the day. Obviously you cannot do much to the athlete, but this should be treated like a buyout on trades. Schools who take scholarship athletes should be forced to payout the scholarship to the school + a premium of some sort.

Sue the NCAA for what exactly? It's the court system of the United States that has ruled that players have the right to be paid, and that they can freely transfer without penalty of sitting. The NCAA has tried to regulate this stuff and has been shot down.
