His freshman scoring stats won't show it, but Kennard Davis coming back for his sophomore season is just huge for SIU. His best ball is ahead of him in a big way. If there was a futures bet option on MVC most improved team for next year, I'd put a lot down on Kennard Davis.

Between Mayo, Davis and Sykes (6-6 transfer from Texas State), Southern's play on the wings should be highly competitive. Still got to figure out the point guard and 5-man situations.

I think I'm gonna like this year; looks pretty clear we will be very underrated . Zo has put together an experienced , long and athletic group, and the difference between similar teams of late, they won't be coached by Dana.

How's their roster looking? Losing the big 3 is a Mt Everest-sized hole, but I'm not familiar with their pick-ups.
