MVC Pre-season Tournament’s

Virgin Islands-Paradise Jam:
Illinois State , Kansas State, UAB, George Washington, Liberty, McNeese State (2 more to be added)

Wait... North Texas is scheduled to be in both the Paradise Jam and the MTE in Orlando!?

The MVC should just have a pre-season tournament

Send all the teams to the Bahamas, etc
Build some interesting storylines for the reg season, and finish it back in StL at March Madness

Other than not being able to count the games and spending a fortune that the league doesn't have, that's a great idea.

Someone is making money on the tourneys or they wouldn’t do it

And games against D3’s aren’t counted anyways, which we all have on the schedules now

I know it’s not a great idea, but those aren’t the reasons not to

I’m thinking that Vanderbilt and North Texas have backed out of the Paradise Jam.

I’m guessing they must have backed out of one of them. Will have to wait and see which one.

They've also apparently backed out of their return trip to Cedar Falls this year. Real classy and organized there...

MTE in Orlando:
Belmont, Drake, Kansas, Alabama, Dayton, Miami, Iona, North Texas.

This is definitely the first I've heard of Drake in the Orlando MTE

I'll believe that Orlando tourney when I see it. The P5s withdrew from almost every tournament last year that involved mid-majors. I assumed they were only going to participate in tourneys with each other now. That tourney would be great, but I can't imagine it happening.

You can only have one team per conference in an MTE. So for any event with more than four teams you are going to have to have non P5 teams in the field.
