UE-INSU NCAA Baseball Tournament

Two Valley teams made the NCAA Baseball Tournament. Evansville swept through the MVC Tournament to get the auto-bid to Greenville, NC while Indiana State received an at-large bid to the Lexington Regional.

In Game 1, Evansville knocked off top-seed and host East Carolina 4-1. CF Ty Rumsey also checked in at #3 on Sports Center's Top 10 Plays of the Day with this nice catch:

Indiana State fell to Illinois 4-1.

Saturday action saw the Aces jump out to a 13-0 lead over VCU. VCU managed to cut the lead to 5 in the 7th before the Aces added a couple of insurance runs to win 17-11. UE is alone in the winners bracket and can punch a ticket to the Super Regional with a win tomorrow.

The Sycs bounced back and eliminated Western Michigan 6-4. This sets up a rematch tomorrow with Illinois, which lost 6-1 to host Kentucky.

Sycamores easily got by Illinois this morning, they play Kentucky at 7pm for a chance to win the regional (they need to beat Kentucky twice)

Unfortunately both ISU and UE lost, ISU is done, had a great season, UE plays for the regional championship tomorrow

UE erases a 5-2 deficit to knock off the Pirates and advance to the Super Regionals 6-5! I love how great this conference is at so many sports! Congratulations Aces! Best of luck in the Super Regionals!

I can't stress enough how much I love that my school is part of a conference that habitually punches above its weight in so many sports. I love that teams from the MVC regularly make deep tournament runs in men's and women's basketball as well as volleyball (especially the equivalent of the NIT) and Super Regional berths in baseball and even softball (I believe). It's so great to see! It's just too bad we keep losing strong members but the conference keeps recovering and I hope this time will be no exception!

Can't believe evansville is one win away from omaha. After yesterday I was like alright, it's been a good run but Tennessee has them. But honestly with yesterday and today, the aces have a good shot of winning tomorrow.

Completely agree, I know yall are a new team to the league and we are on the opposite end as the biggest flight risk (isur) but I do think the valley is a good league. I just am not sold that joining a low level fbs league that also has low exposure is worth the tradeoff of leaving a more preferable league in all other sports+better travel (better travel includes the mac).
