In a related story I just bought the naming rights to The OVC for 20 bucks, an unopened pack of baseball cards, and a half-used Starbucks gift card. It will now officially be known as the Wannabe Valley Conference.

Its not a bad move honestly. Gotta get that scholarship and NIL money somehow, I do attest to ripping apart your name. just a simply "presented by" or a required court decal is really the only thing that is needed in my eyes

For the newer conferences with generic names it doesn't really matter at all. Nobody marvels at the history of the American Athletic Conference or Conference-USA. But we do have a bit more history here in the MVC, and while we always need money, I hope whatever might be done is tasteful.

If they can keep Valley in the name, I think most of us will just continue to refer to it as "The Valley anyway.
