Agreed. It's why there won't be any agreements. The three leagues mentioned don't see the MVC as an equal and the MVC doesn't see leagues below them as equal.

Only real shot is with the WCC and I doubt they see themselves as a peer league with the MVC with how strong the top of their league is (and I don't blame them). MWC already pulled out of a challenge with the MVC A10 took a team from the MVC and is perceived (rightly or wrongly) as higher AAC took a team from the MVC and is seen as a higher league with the performance almost every year to back that up.

It was September 22nd last year, so we're getting close.

Gets later every year, so this year it will probably be October. :P

In seriousness, though, they've tended to wait out the power conferences and TV schedules to ensure the best matchups on TV, which I get. But at the same time, as someone who schedules months in advance AND schedules around Bradley home games, there has to be a more effective way to get this done sooner. I work full-time, but also freelance and gig as a musician. I have to make decisions on gigs that take place throughout the season, and the later the release, the harder that becomes. It's beyond irritating.

I assume there is a need to wait on the third party TV deals to be sorted out and get some doubled up markets sorted as to who gets the televised games vs who doesnt. I stated previously that UIC and Valpo are sharing the chicago market and are under a third party deal, but Illinois State and Bradley are also sharing the Peoria TV market.

The old excuse was "access to stadiums" and waiting out other leagues - but I believe Bradley and Evansville are the only league members that pertains to, and the only other arena team for Bradley had their details out in either late July or early August.

I agree with you. I am also planning around Evansville games, and honestly, the whole waiting to figure out road trips is really frustrating. I know which games I “want” to go to, but some games, if during the week, I simply can not make. So here is hoping it comes out sooner rather than later so I can get my vacation turned in.

It's ESPN. They've taken on more and more inventory of the years and everyone else suffers. They've missed many contractual deadlines.

I think ESPN has less CBB inventory now than they used to (at least non-streaming). It's that CBS and Fox and to a lesser extent NBC/Universal/USA have increased their inventory, and have to wait out ESPN. And the Valley with CBS has to wait out their higher priority properties (B1G, SEC, AAC, A10).

And even less next year when FOX takes around 35% of the Big 12 from them.
