I agree. The rivalry games will get the eyes and engagement, but they need to be at good times.

The good news for Drake is the home UNI game will be on the third day of the spring semester right when all students are back.

Most schools are ok with rivalry games being on weekdays.

Those games don't typically need extra incentives to drive attendance. More casual fans are willing to show up on a Wednesday for Bradley/ISU or UNI/Drake. They are far less likely to show up on a Wednesday night for a Valpo at Drake type of game.

I get your point, and I would agree with a Bradley/ISU situation, where they are within 35 miles of each other. In Evansville, we can draw good crowds from Murray, SIU and Indiana State. All are about 2 hours away. Will Murray draw better here on a Wednesday night than a UNI or UIC, sure, but I don't think it will be close to the crowds they bring on weekends. Getting 6-7K in the Ford is a good atmosphere, especially when at least 1/3 of them are opposing fans. I think all of our schools would want to maximize ticket revenue.
