Not likely. McCollum knows EXACTLY what he’s doing and how to do it! Bringing in his players and getting the one guy to leave his job to exhaust his final year of eligibility, was genius! They won a national title last season! They know how to win and that lends itself to creating a winning culture among the other newcomers. Ben McCollum might be the best coach in the Valley!

I know the announcers said it several times, but McCollum’s team did not win national title last season.

You are correct sir! The last one was the ‘21-‘22 season. I stand corrected!

The Charleston Classic is where the big boys go to lay an egg. The Racers beat Texas A&M there two years ago.

Not taking anything away from Drake though - that's a big win.

I'm glad they won, but Miami hasn't had a difficult schedule so far and they lost their last 10 games last season.

I watched the game. Drake had some good stretches, but overall it was more about Miami playing poorly on defense than Drake playing great. Drake had over 20 points just off offensive rebounds (13), backdoor cut layups, and alleyoops from poor defense. Drake was 4-19 (21%) from three and 26-56 (46%) from inside the arc. Miami also didn’t shoot the ball real well; 18-44 (41%) inside the arc & 8-21 (38%) from outside the arc. Free throw shooting was great and accounted for 49 of the 149 points. Miami 25-29 and Drake 24-28
Will be watching the game against FAU to get a better gauge of how Drake looks. Hopefully a win and on to the championship.

I didn't see the game, but I'm going to say that the idea that Miami played poorly on defense was at least, in part, because of what Drake was doing on offense. Good actions and moving without the ball can make teams look bad on defense.

22-37 inside the arc. 26-56 overall.

Drake's poor shooting makes the win even more impressive. If Drake would have shot their usual % from 3-point range, it would have been a 20+ win.
