I didn't have McCollum winning a P4 game before DeVries on my bingo card.

Mac's the better coach. I think time will bear that out.

Doesn't need time. He's already proven himself. You don't win 4 national championships without being an excellent coach...no matter the level! I posted in another thread that McCullom might be the best coach in the Valley. It was on full display against Miami!

Drake dominates Miami. How many returning PPG from D1 last year are even on Drake’s roster? Incredible.

Drake, Bradley, Murray look really, really good. UNI, SIU, ISUr, Belmont look good as well.

Exactly like I said (echoing the words of a member of the valpo forumn). With all this turnover, it would take a few games to gather your bearings. Drake is proving that point as are other Valley schools.

That's a good win for Drake.

The rest of the MVC better be ready for the Bulldogs. McCollum can coach.

Drake has two/three remaining shots at what could be good nonconference wins: FAU, a potential Charleston Classic Final/consolation game, and Kansas State.

Win those and put together a decent MVC season and they'll be in the discussion as an at-large.

Except Drake really didn't have turnover. It's the same experienced team from last year just wearing different jerseys. They're also old which helps immensely.

I'm old enough to remember that this league was going to be in the 20s in the NET 10 days ago and now we know there are at least 5 quality teams (Bradley, UNI, Drake, Murray, Southern) and a 3 more (Belmont, Illinois State and UIC) that might be pretty good as well.

Just keep stacking Ws for the next 6 weeks!

OK. So drake didnt have as much turnover as other teams, but it is still year 1 of a new coach. Other valley teams have proved this point as well. Just look at week 1 performances compared to this most recent week. I know some sentiment is "Well they have had the summer to work together" but all that practice does not equal in game success. Ultimately playing real game scenarios is how these teams improve.

Drake is on ESPN2 right now. There are 12 minutes left in the 2nd half.

Drake up 48-42 over FAU.

Regardless of today's outcome. Drake has easily proved they are a top 100 team. FAU is being outplayed and they are 77 in KenPom
