It's only real weaknesses are interior D and rebounding but theres no real threats as far as bigs in our conference so barring injuries, 16-4 at a minimum should be the expectation now and possibly 18-2. The return of Zek is enormous as he can create his own shot where Connor couldnt. We miss Mal on D but Wardle will work the D into better form as the year goes on. And unlike the Drake that plays its top two guys 40 each and every night, our minutes are spread out much more evenly. I didnt know what to expect after Mal and Connor left and thought we'd be 21-10. That mark would be a huge disappointment now. I expect to be ranked by mid January. Net moved from 70 to 54 after last night. Get to 13-1 and lets see those votes! Go BU!

Maybe let's see Bradley at least get a Q2 win before jumping to that conclusion...

Ackerman/Muller is a really good broadcasting team. We're lucky to have Valley legends (Muller, Emmenecker, etc) who love the Valley come back and be such good announcers.

I don't think Ackerman is any good but Dan Muller is 10x better than Rich Zvovcic. John Rooney is just taking a paycheck to fill time in the winter before baseball comes back.

Bradley is good. I don't think this is a surprise to anyone. How good? Who knows. It loses to the 2005-06 team for sure. That team was loaded and held back by a horrendous head coach.

Two big games back to back for BU coming up - Dec. 14 v Santa Clara in Vegas and Dec. 18 at home vs Santa Clara. Bradley failed it's first WCC test on the road at Wazzu. Need to win both of these.

Agreed that Bradley is solid with an opportunity for a decent non-con. USF on 12/18 should be a great game

I've only caught a couple of Bradley games this year (WSU and Wright State). Based on those two performances, I think either squad from the past two years could beat this year's team

UIC fell 85 spots in NET from 161 to 246 after last night.

UNI rose 54 spots in NET from 166 to 112.

I do not like Rooney on basketball at all. He doesn't know the players or the rules.

For sure. He peruses game notes when he gets there and just does the game. I would like to see the MVC hire younger guys who are hungry and knowledgeable instead of throwing names out there at us.

The rawness of Powell's press conference was really compelling. Easy to root for a guy who cares that much. Valpo has the right coach.

Powell is a man who has seen this program at its peak. And is coaching this program through its worst. Its as Paul Oren our beat writer said. You have to really love this place to want to coach here. He had a nice job at Gonzaga, yet he decided to come back and try to rebuild this program. This team has a lot of pieces, and is slowly fitting them all together. Drake was a really tough opponent with a solid resume, and VU took them to the brink.
This team is a sleeping giant.

Cooper Schwieger was held scoreless in 25 minutes of play and sat the bench for the entire down the stretch run. Is the Roger Powell effort to turn a Valley freshman of the year forward into a center a venture that will pay off during this 24-25 upcoming Valley season?

I have no idea how to judge Powell on this decision but the near term success or failure of Valpo appears to be hinging on the outcome.

Your thoughts please because I do not know the answer.
