Did some poking around and thanks to an updated NCAA policy, it looks like yesterday's Drake game just got even better. The game is considered an away game, and not a neutral game, because K-State ran the whole thing. That's a really big deal because it goes from a "Q3-hopefully a future Q2 game" to now being a "Q2 hopefully a future Q1 game".

Noticed that on WarrenNolan but wasn’t sure if it was a mistake on their end. That’s massive because K-State might be hovering around 75 NET all season.

Add UNI and Bradley, and that’s anywhere from 0-3 Q1 games in play. Drake caught a bad break with no trip to Belmont, so a missed Q2 there.

Yep, here's the policy defining a home-game which was updated in August:

The venue "[i]s rented or chosen by Team A, and Team A, regardless of the opponent, arranges for officials,
controls the tickets or the game is part of the season ticket package, and is responsible for game
operations, in-venue programming, and other elements that would make it appear as a Team A
home contest.(Updated 8/29/2024)." http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/stats/ForSIDs/Policies.pdf

For what its worth, Warren Nolan is corroborated by the Quad records on the official NCAA site.

Right now Valpo has 4 D1 wins. Evansville has only 2. Evansville is a terrible shooting team, a terrible 3-Point shooting team and a terrible rebounding team, pretty as they have been for the past 7 years. Valpo is a better team than Evansville so far this year.

It will be Brick Day when these 2 play later in the season.

NET Ratings:

#42 Drake
#71 Bradley (host #48 San Francisco tonight)
#75 Northern Iowa (@ #69 Washington State Saturday
#108 Murray State (@ #200 Indiana State tonight)
#117 Belmont (host #38 UC-Irvine tomorrow night)
#140 Illinois State (@ #100 Cornell Saturday)

Big opportunities for Bradley, UNI, Belmont, and Illinois State to improve on the MVC NET position inside the Top 10.
Bradley could close in on a Top #50 NET
UNI get into the 60’s
Belmont 75-100
Illinois State 120’s

Valpo hasn't been a consistent shooting team either. Minimizing the scoring droughts is essential to how many wins they can pull through with this year. Especially their 3 point game, and their seeming inability to break a zone defense.

However, they have been good enough to beat 4 D1 teams while Evansville has only beaten 2.
