Rotnei Clark

Some talk out there that Missouri State could be in play for him. Apparently they are there along with St. Louis, Gonzaga, and Orel Roberts. Heard this second hand from a friend of a Drury University assistant. Could just be a rumor. The Arkansas coach still has to release him and is fighting it. Not really sure he would play much at MSU so I highly doubt he ends up there, but apparently he is tired of Fayetteville. Maybe some other Valley schools might get involved. Never seen him play but apparently he is a decent shot and a good athlete coming from the SEC.

CU recruited him out of high school but that was the other coaching staff.

CU continues to have one scholie opening for next season if something shakes free. However, the coaches are hitting the 2012 class hard and with only one remaining scholie open after the Orris commit I don't see them landing anyone unless it is one of those graduated seniors who still have a year of eligibility and can transfer without sitting out.

Newsflash: Clark will play a lot wherever he goes, especially if he goes to MSU. He is one of the best pure shooters in the country.

You might want to refrain from commenting about people when you haven't even seen them play.

He's the same poster that said Ricky Kreklow might be transfering to Wartburg (a D-3 school in Iowa).

No, if you study data you can learn about players too. This kid has good stats but Arkansas played a weak preseason schedule and their side of the SEC was pretty bad. Truthfully I like our guards in two years and I have read quite a few posts on this Arkansas board that are very critical of this kid and particularly questioning his conditioning and work ethic. And Arkansas fans would know best in this situation and they don't seem to want him.

It seems highly unlikely now but there was scant info out there when I reported that info. I think it was probably the Wartburg grad in the office pulling my leg but until he signs, you never know.

Studying data may give you basic info about a player, but it hardly makes one qualified to evaluate them or to make determinations that they won't be able to see the floor at MSU. There is a reason college coaches want to watch potential recruits and don't just "study data."

Arkansas fans are saying bad things about him because he wants to leave -- typical jilted lover sort of thing. If he was staying, they'd be raving about him.

The fact that you put stock into the analysis of message board posters tells me all that I need to know. :Bam:

Probably not a good idea to simply believe (and repeat) everything you hear.

Arkansas guard Rotnei Clarke has been released, per numerous news outlets. Will now be interesting to see what schools will go after him.
