I don't know how UNI got mixed up in all of this, but their run was hardly a fluke or even them "getting lucky." And this is coming from a guy that wouldn't give them any credit until their run. UNI wasn't flashy that year, Egleseder, their center had a six inch vertical, nobody else wowwed anyone, they were good shooters, fast enough to play good defense, they played together and followed the game plan. They just won. Period. A team that wins is not lucky, they prove themselves. UNI was good enough to beat anyone.

John, I agree with 98 percent of what you said. And likewise, I don't know how this ended up being a negative UNI thread.

I think it ended up being a negative UNI thread when somebody made it necessary to describe UNI's run as a "fluke".

Stop Casey, just stop please.
MSU was never going to CUSA and won't anytime in the near future. UNI wasn't lucky to beat KU or UNLV. Some of the things you say just smell stupid.

On the Conferenece USA business, I don't think we can say "never going to CUSA" we just cannot predict the future with that kind of certainty. But I understand your point essentially as people jumped the gun which I would agree with now in hindsight.

On the UNI thing, I am kind of reevaluating everything that I have said. I think I kind of got caught up in the moment with an unwieldy Panther fan and said some stuff. They had a tremendous season in 2009-2010 and had a great run, I maybe should have just left it at that. I get highly charged sometimes as I think we all do as fans.

C'mon DU, let Casey be Casey! Without him, how much dialog would this board have in the middle of July? There are certain things that he has said that have made me scratch my head, but at least he has me reading. And people are posting, too!

I say, "Dig Casey Dig!" In a few more months you will dig yourself out of the hole and find yourself standing safely among three billion Chinese! About that time there will also be some actual basketball to discuss.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

What unwiedly Panther fan some some stuff. AFAIK, panther-state and I have the most posts by a Panther fan in this thread...maybe the only two. If that was in response to me pointing out that MSU doesn't draw dick for football attendance and layed the smack down on you with that one that caused you to call that season flukey you need help. I guess if that is what did it I'm glad I didn't break down the W/L records and average finish for football compared to other MVFC teams here - you wouldn't have liked it at all and likely would have called back to back conference titles in the regular season and tournament just one really really long flukey run, called Coach Jake over-rated, and some other dumb s***.

It's a message board bro - lighten the f up.

Casey, I will give you a high-five for wising up, growing a pair and saying something mature  this thread can officially become boring and lifeless :Yea!:  :Yea!:

However, if you take shots at some random MVC players because others are taking shots at Weems and Creekmore (who deserve it) and chalk it up to "standing up for my team and players", then I don't think you have the option of calling myself or uniftw "unwieldly" for sticking up for what was probably the best/most successful MVC in recent years. Let's drop the double standards alright. I mean let's be serious, if I'm an "unwiedly Panther fan" for sticking up for them, then look through all of these threads in the past few weeks that you have posted in and tell me you haven't been and unwieldly Bears fan.

I do not recall which one, I would have to do more research in that and frankly I do not have the passion to do that right now. I don't believe I have ever singled you out, so I think you are making this a little too personal and for that reason I find your last line a little comical. The other part of your post where you ramble about things I might have said if you had made a different post is very difficult for me to tackle head on. Suffice it to say that it amuses me that I would be called out for things that I might say.

I think that you had some great points in your rebuttals and brought up some things that most Bears fans, even me, had not fully contemplated. I give you props for that of course. And I have gone to great depths to qualify some of my previous statements on UNI, which I think is rare in message board culture to essentially back down. Yet I still feel a good amount of scorn in ridicule in posts directed at me. And I am not singling you out on this one uniftw. I am too perplexed by the delight that people seem to express over the failings of MSU. At the end of the day though we are big boys and can handle it, but I would have to think if a neutral folk read this board they would think that some of it is so over the top that it borders on comical.
