WSU on verge of landing Hubbard?

That statement is from Hubbard himself in the article. It is exactly right..............to make it even more blunt..........if you are the driver and one of your passengers shoots & kills someone you also will be charged with 1st degree murder.................you are equally guilty in the eyes of the law as the shooter.

A lot of pro comments in the article supporting this fine young man and it would be nice if they are all true. However, be forewarned that if a felon learns anything in prison, he learns how to con people and say exactly what they want to hear, not necessarily the truth in all instances. None of them want to go back to prison and will do and or say almost anything to avoid that fate which unfortunately has the grips on about 3/4's of them and they will be back in prison.

Once it becomes certain Hubbard is at Nebraska, we should all tweet him, asking about his WSU sources. He's the only one to link Hubbard to WSU. I'd say it was a complete and total fabrication.

I'm not one to defend Matty, but from the latest it sounds like Hubbard was all set to enroll at WSU, only to be denied by the admissions department. If it was in fact the WSU admissions dept., not Marshall and the administration who kept him out, then I don't think MAtt is completely wrong here. Yes, Hubbard didn't end up at WSU, but he was apparently all ready to go there (and presumably recruited to go there) until admissions gave the thumbs down.

Ultimately, from the stories I've heard about the kid, WSU admissions did the right thing here.

And maybe Marshall was all ready to go to Tennessee until their administration turned him down. The point is you shouldn't report something if it's not true. Specifics don't matter.

Yup. I was wrong on this one.

And DU is correct, I wasn't referring specifically to Hubbard.

As for "once a felon . . ." , SycFanatic was referring to recidivism. Yes, the felony is on their permanent record, but that doesn't mean every one of them will commit another.

There's not a day goes by I don't feel regret. Not because I'm in here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then: a young, stupid kid who committed that terrible crime. I want to talk to him. I want to try and talk some sense to him, tell him the way things are. But I can't. That kid's long gone and this old man is all that's left. I got to live with that.

There are those who are hardened criminals through and through who will always be punks but in my book Morgan describes a majority of folks "in there" who just hung with the wrong crowd or were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

I haven't always thought that way. Perhaps I'm just softening up as I age.
