WSU's other question early in the season is Orukpe's ability to get some non-destructive minutes backing up Stutz.

 Wichita is taking a Brazil trip too? Copycats...I mean Shox

The Brazilian National Team decided they needed a scrimmage against a top-tier college basketball team. ;)

Ahh...were all the teams who have made recent NCAA appearances busy or something? ;)

UW-GB should be decent, they were in the Horizon title mix last year. Old Spice Classic doesn't look as strong.

Green Bay was several games under 500 in 2010-11. You mean UW-Milwaukee?

Old Spice Classic could be OK, but could be damaging too, depending on who the Trees draw/whether they win.

Indiana State opens the Old Spice Classic against Texas Tech. The winner will likely play Minnesota (who should defeat DePaul). The opposite side of the bracket has Dayton vs Wake Forest and Fairfield vs Arizona St.

That will be a test for ISUb they could easily lose 2 games in this tourney.

Are there still players on the team from that season? Otherwise, it pretty much goes to ancient history.

It's cool WSU is playing the national team, do you know which national team it is? Is it the full professional team or one of the U-21 or U-19 teams, such as what McDermott played on this year? Either way, good opportunity.

Don't be such a Debbie downer. The Sycs could also win three games. It's opportunities like this that the entire mvc needs to be pulling for Lansing and Co.

Exactly. Your coach wasn't even around for that.

And yes playing the Brazilian national team is pretty sweet, beats the heck out of playing Jundai and what not, but hey its a;; for bonding and experience, the results don't matter. I just found it comical that an NIT championship makes Wichita St. "top-tier". Maybe I have high standards but I put teams like UCONN, Duke, Kansas, etc...in that bracket, but not Wichita St. or any other MVC team for that matter

Hate to break it to you but UNI's appearance is history as well. There isn't much difference in 06 and 10, both are in the rear view mirror and mean nothing right now.

I guess we could wait for 2 more years before we call UNI's tournament success meaningless, using your logic. Besides though some players may still be on the roster the guys that achieved the success are all gone now.

Yes
...and...
Yes

There hasn't been much international competition lately, so the status of the team (membership, have they been practicing, etc.) isn't known. Brazil normally has a respectable international team, so even if they're not exactly game-ready right now, the good result I'm expecting is based on players getting experience - not on winning the exhibition.

Two more years would be reasonable, but to say it is completely history now when there are still one starter and two reserves (now starters) who saw a fair share of playing time during that season on the roster is a bit early. I would disagree that 06 and 10 have the same impact or there is no difference in them when the coaching staff from 06 for WSU is completely turned over and there are no current players to talk with recruits about the experience versus the players who are still at UNI as well as most of the coaching staff. I would bet the WSU coaching staff is touting their success over the last two years and the NIT title from last year with recruits more than what happened in 06 to recruits.
