Basketball will be a afterthought, ran by the NCAA for the 26 or so Non-Big 4 conferences.
It will be a fair assemblage, still have some excitement to it - and no Big 4 teams. FCS football Playoffs, NCAA Basketball Tourney, College Cup, and the CWS are still alive and well -shared by the 26-31 leftover conferences when the Big Boys left, NCAA brokers Media contracts for all of its' properties now.

The big four broke away from the NCAA in total. Football, basketball, and baseball are their only sports now...they canned all the rest and the Title programs. Have their own little tourneys paid for by ESPN, CBS, and the rest of the media cronies.

the MVC folded it's tent and went away - Valley teams dispersed to the west and east...
MWC - Summit - C-USA - A-10, etc. All the Iowa Uni's cut their sports programs drastically. UNI no longer has sports programs. Only Iowa has a full slate of programs... Iowa St cut Football, Baseball and other non-revenue producing sports...

It sounds like the Big XII is trying to make it financially difficult to poach Mizzu or any other teams. Same goes for the ACC. They have already turned their nose at West Virginia, so what's the next best option? TCU? South Florida? Louisville?

The buyout that the Big XII is trying to get passed hasn't been signed by anyone. I wouldn't expect Mizzou to sign it at least until Oklahoma and Texas do. Possibly even Oklahoma State. Kansas State, Baylor and Iowa State will sign any agreement that binds other teams to keeping the gravytrain alive. Assigning tv rights to the conference for six years stops everything. Getting rid of Beebe helped, but the remaining schools need to stand up to Texas or the problems will continue to escalate.

Mizzou officially opens the door to leaving the Big 12.

University curators voted unanimously Tuesday night to consider leaving the Big 12 instead of committing to the league for the long term. The governing board's members agreed unanimously after a 4-hour closed meeting at the system's St. Louis campus to give Deaton authority to look elsewhere, specifically "any and all actions necessary to fully explore options on conference affiliation....which best serve the (school's) interest."

Sounds good to me, the faster the Big East crumbles, possibly the better it "might" be for Creighton...plus, the Big 12 makes alot more sense for TCU than being in the Big East.
