Doesn't Butler usually play at least one MVC team every year?

At Evansville this year and lost to the Aces last year.

The way I see it is that the MWC, CUSA, MVC, A10, CAA and Horizon are all fighting to get what few extra bids there are for mid-majors come NCAA tourney time. I see playing and beating any of those conferences as getting us an edge over them when those decisions need to be made.

....what do you think the bracketbusters are for.....

If valley teams could try and schedule at least one game against each of those conferences, I think we would be better off for it.

UE and Butler play each other just about every year. The contract was just renewed either last year or the previous year.

I don't think CUSA or the A10 are involved in BB. Pretty sure you're right about the competition though and that's probably why it's hard to get those games scheduled. Nobody wants to see it as an elimination game except the BcS schools.

But better off only if we win those games.......

This year is the final year of the current deal between UE & Butler. It was a 2-year home & home arrangement. There is a reasonable probability it will be renewed, but certainly no guarantee.

I just read through this thread and the other one overrun by Tree fans and have come to a conclusion: All Sycamore fans are batsh!t insane.

Seriously, replacing the Mtn West with the Horizon league, just so you have a one in ten chance of playing Butler? Good grief.

Horizon? No way. Once you get past the top team or two it's garbage.

It's the same with the Mountain West.

That was a joke, right?

100% agree.

How somebody could actually believe that the Horizon is not only on par, but BETTER than the Mountain West as a whole is absolutely ABSURD.

The Horizon barely qualifies as a Top 15 conference year in and year out.

Some of these posts are absolutely mind-boggling. :Bam:
