I hope that they allow the school to split the sports up since they are technically in different leagues. That could be the Valley's saving grace on this.
I just hope come voting time a majority of the schools see that whether they like it or not they are going to need to vote yes, otherwise the Valley and any league that doesn't will basically drop down a notch.
Let me ask this of the football schools fans... If it comes down to having to choose between not doing it or axing football what do you think the possibility of your particular school axing it would be? (not saying that is whats going to happen or that any school would be in that position, just wondering). Once you axe you can't go back, ask WSU.
ISU's $20mil renovation will get scaled back to a $19mil renovation so we can pay this. We are clearly committed to football and if the $2K increase gets voted through I am sure we will find a way. I am afraid that this could severely hurt some other school's in our conference though. If the valley can figure out how to make this work as a whole it has potential to put us leaps and bounds above other mid-major and lower conferences from a recruiting standpoint. (especially if a conference like the Horizon votes it down).
