If Indiana State finishes in the top 3, then something seriously went wrong with about 3-5 programs.

Explain that Dr. Wu...weren't they picked here to finish sixth???? I don't think it's that out of the world minded lol especially considering how much every year at least one team completely falls apart lol...Not saying they will but I do believe Lansing is an underrated game coach and motivator but, I think it should be interesting...

I think a lot of us feel that teams 2-6 could be pretty fluid and that would make it possible for a team predicted to finish lower to jump up. If that occurs, I suspect said coach would receive some support for Coach of the Year.

I plan to leave this poll open until Friday, October 15. I will open the Freshman of the Year poll tonight and add Newcomer of the Year and Player of the Year polls next week so all will conclude before MVC media day on October 26.

I voted for Simmons because what he's already done in getting the Aces ready to play. He dropped the weight to give himself and the team a can-do attitude. He has an OoC schedule that is second to none in the MVC.
He has an experience team, minus 1 player, that came together late last season with wins over #22 UNI and WSU. I think he'll be up to the chore of 'ROCKIN ROBERTS' for its final season with a far better season than what has been expressed on theses boards.

If Coach of the Year was based off of pounds lost, Simmons would win it in a heartbeat. Unfortunately, that's not a factor in the award.

Coaches projected at 4th and beyond have better chances at receiving the award because they can overachieve. The teams picked in the top 3 are expected to do so they get less consideration. It's safe to say there is an abundance of koolaid this time of the year for some fans. More power to yah. I just hope you don't blow your brains out if your teams don't meet the desired and lofty expectations.

Voted for Marshall, basically he has a track record as a solid winner, WSU has been consistently getting better under him and are the clear favorite to win the conference. However, I really dont see why weight loss shouldn't be a factor......of course if you factor in weight loss, wouldn't Lowery be the clear favorite.....he has lost about 5,000 lbs. of "cant miss" recruits and about 100,000 lbs. of fans :D

When are they going to change it to "the winning coach of the MVC award?"

If Evansville finishes better than 7th I think they deserve an ESPY.

And I wish the same for you in your first conference defeat at CKA this season
