The bandwagon test usually comes after unexpected losses. This was an expected loss for UNI so coming out after this L demonstrates not as much willpower as say after getting clobbered at home to Evansville.

Nice to see the fanbase come back out but the next real test will come again after another unexpected L.

Nice win Jays.

Tough loss, we looked so good in the 1st half and fell back to earth, hard, in the 2nd. So frustrating to see that happen so much this year, but we're young and there is a lot of learning to be done by some of our guys. I really miss having a guy like Kwadzo who you know is going to carry the team when every one else is cold (but by the same token, be ice cold when nobody else can miss). I think Sonnen could've shown glimpses of "being that guy" if he kept up the shots and didn't shy away from things when he lost a bit of his touch. I'll be excited to see the rematch in the McLeod

...and MVC Championship game ;) (yes, I went there!!)

By the way, great job by Creighton to make the adjustments and use their size to wear down the Panther D. Ben did an awesome job of preparing for the Jay's attack but it's hard to game plan around Echinique's (sp?) size. I don't believe he's only 6'9 but that may be partly because he's built like Panzer so he appears "bigger". He has an unreal ability to go up and get the ball

No.

He had 12 vs WSU.

I noticed something about him last night, and it is a very glaring weakness that could be exploited by teams with a good defense....he doesn't know how to play offense if he can't have his back to the basket. He isn't real good at a face up game, and if he is doubled and can't make a spin move as soon as he catches the ball he tries to force things and throws up bad shots, then acts just like his daddy when he doesn't get a call.

Really? I left the game very impressed with McDecommitt for almost the exact opposite reasons. He was getting held all night without a call, he got knocked on his arse all night and all he did was find Young open. Jacobson's game plan was to take him out of his game and make Young beat the Panthers. Jacobson said so himself. This is the same game plan Missouri State and Wichita State used. In the Missouri State game, Doug forced bad shots, everyone else stood around and Creighton lost. In the WIchita State game, he forced some bad shots in the first half and Wichita State went on a big run. In the second half of the Wichita State game, he played unselfishly and everyone else contributed. Northern Iowa committed three guys in the paint against him, it would be a mistake to attempt a "spin move" against three defenders, instead, Doug passed the ball. It seems that you are complaining that McDecommitt didn't fall into the trap set by the Panthers.

McDermott could have scored 25 last night, but if he did, Creighton probably loses. That is what impressed me. Kids his age, especially guys getting a lot of ink and having high expectations, generally force things, for the most part, Doug did not.

Also, Doug played the post, generally post players do play with their backs to the basket. Are you opining that he should be playing the low block with his back to the ball?
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

Coming into the game, he was second in the nation in three point shooting, so I'd say he can do some other things. He isn't exactly starting those shots with his back to the basket....

I also don't think you are giving your defense enough credit. UNI was draping two, sometimes three guys all over him when on the blocks or in the paint. The fact that he didn't force it or turn over speaks volumes. I'm not exactly sure what to think about the fact that he was getting hammered all night, yet never got a single call (he didn't shoot a free throw until there were 2 seconds in the game)...

I just want to state for the record that I had a total of zero dollar beers and zero seven dollar beers at Centuty Link Center last night. I spent a total of zero on concessions. I did have two margaritas and a cheese frenchie at Don and Millie's before the game, however.

Carry on.

While I disagree with the premise that Doug only has a limited offensive skill set (a real  statement), to say that Doug didn't get a call is completely wrong. He got away with at least a half dozen travels and as many push offs/shoves going for rebounds without being whistled once. He got more than his share of calls.
