I was a part of the CU MSU thread on Bear nation and I didn't see a lot of crying about the no call on Weems?? Some thought there may possibly have been a foul but no one was going crazy about it?? For myself I said over there that there was some contact but it was difficult to see if the CU player hit on the ball or the hand. I don't see that as a big deal or "crying".

Most of the talk centered on Lusk's post game comments regarding this play and the double foul.

That's just trout, the supposed "MSU Fan" that hates MSU and is happy when they fail so he can say "I told you so"

Pretty pathetic.

I think Weems and McDermott wore each other out on the defensive end.

GIve me a one point victory on the road any day!

I'll say this Bear fans - I'm glad we are done playing you until at least St Louis (and hopefully not there either).

Classy as always, CU fans.

I can't believe we are DONE playing CU before we have even played a single game against Bradley or WSU.

I didn't see a whole lot of crying over on Bear-nation, just some. I really was trying to make out what Trout's comment was about. I would also really like to know exactly what Lusk said in the post game. With regards to the Weems shot, if you watch the replay, you can clearly see the official, right in front of the play gesture that the ball was tipped.

Also, I still don't see a lot of "crying over at Bear-nation, in fact, here is a post that wasn't there when I posted late last night:
Bears were called for 296 fouls in conference play last year, opponents 313, Bears shot 348 FT's to 271 for our opponents.

In 8 conference games the Bears have been called for 149, opponents 153, 155 FT's for the Bears to 160 for our opponents.

There have been some bad calls, granted, but I don't want officials to be biased, call the game straight up.

Lusk is more upset about not getting explanations on things like the end of game situation and the double foul call, and he's 100% correct in that. But McDermott is in his 7th year coaching in the MVC, Lusk is in his first so it kind of comes with the territory.

I didn't have the greatest angle on Weems shot, but I didn't see any contact.

The arrow didn't switch. Creighton had it and kept it because possession goes to the point of interruption on a double foul, which was simply Creighton throwing the ball in.

Multiple people were talking about how they are glad Lusk is saying something in the postgame comments about how Weems isn't protected, how we don't get calls that everyone else gets, etc...basically whining about the officiating and praising Lusk for complaining about it after the game.

jliehr posted that in response to all the pissing and moaning about us getting screwed all the time. Lusk said something in the postgame interview on the radio about how Weems doesn't get protected (Whatever that means) like other good players in the Valley. People were also talking about how in Cuonzo's first year, he talked about how he hoped we would get more calls when we're an elite team in the conference. Then jliehr posted those stats pointing out that we went to the line and drew more fouls than our opponents last year.

That is how I thought it should have gone, and I'm not sure the arrow didn't stay with Creighton. But I was watching on that firstrow internet feed streamed from your local Comcast broadcast. The announcers said more than once that the possession arrow switched. I really found it curious, but if it wasn't the case, I would have thought that they would have corrected themselves.

The one play that I would think that Bears fans would be upset about was the charge call that was overturned. But again, the officials ended up getting it right. I don't remember who had the ball for Creighton or who got charged with the block, but the Missouri State defender was in position, set in a defensive guarding position and got run over. The reason the call was overturned was the defender was inside the circle. If I were at the game and saw the call overturned, I'd be furious. But the officials did get it right.
