7. Missouri State: 7-11

9. Indiana State: 5-13
10. Bradley: 4-14

Ties would be resolved by head-to-head records, then final non-conference RPI. At the moment:
Drake 1-Evansville 0
UNI 0-Illinois State 1
Missouri St. 1-SIU 0

I hardly ever predict, but I will make an exception.

At most, the Blue Birds will lose one more. If the Blue Birds win out, I will not be surprised.

This brand of birds is talented, well rounded and tough minded. What's not to like?

I think this is the first time you've ever said anything positive about Creighton. Unfortunately, I don't think it will happen. CU will drop at least one more on the road (UNI or EVansville probably). I just hope that WSU stumbles somewhere along the way.

The two burning questions:

1) Will WSU be able to accomplish in Omaha what it couldn't accomplish at home?

2) Will one of: Drake, MSU, UE, UNI, or Ill St seperate from the middle?

To add: I think that Creighton has a 65/35 chance of winning over WSU and I believe they will lose one more on the road. I think WSU has (obviously) a 35/65 chance of winning at CU and will lose one more on the road and possibly one at home. The questionable health of Stutz changes the equaltion some what.

I think CU will win out and WSU will lose at both CU and one more bonehead loss. Possiby at Mo State.

Mo State has the best chance to separate themselves from the mid pack IMO. UNI's schedule looks favorable, but any team losing to Bradley has to be very suspect, still expect UNI to finish 10-8.

Battle to avoid Thursday should be very interesting unless Drake completely returns to the MP abyss. Drake & Ill St are the most likely 7th & 8th place teams. 9-9 finish may play on Thursday and could easily be a three way tie at 9-9.

Our next 5 games have us (isured) vs. MSU, vs. SIU, @ CU, vs. BU, vs. DU. We must take care of business at home if we want a chance of staying out of the play-in round. 4-1 would put us at 8-6 on the year and a likely chance to do so. 3-2 would keep us in the mix, but it will be a dogfight as we will be on the road for 3 of our last 4 of the season.

Well, you are dead wrong. (Dale Carnegie said, "Never tell a person that he is wrong.")

I have never criticized the university or coach. I have never trashed a player. I have commented on a player's abililities such as snow birding, unable to guard, unable to rebound and the like.

Sometimes I tease. An example is a player, who wears knee socks to cover up shaved legs.

My slings and arrows are most always aimed at fans for ignorance and arrogance. Sometimes folks lecture on hearsay to me and I take exception. I still remember CU fans, who sneered mightily, when the Shockers went to the NIT in about 2004 or 2005. They said, "It is the Nobody Cares Tournament." A few years later, the Blue Birds gladly accepted an invitation to the Nobody Cares Tournament and the very Blue Bird fans on this fine forum were estatic.

I have often praised CU players. Three examples are Prince Korver, Doug McDermott and Nate Funk. He had the best spin move in the paint of any Valley player, whom I have ever seen. I think he missed a year, due to a shoulder problem. He was one tough dude to guard.

Most of the Shockers' remaining games are against the better teams as follows:

Evansville - Home
UNI - Home
Drake - Home and Away
Mo State - Home and Away
CU - Away
Illinois State - Away
Indiana State - Home

Clearly the Blue Birds have the schedule advantage.

A little too full of yourself? Thinking Dougie's return might have more to do with the interest and not so much the mighty BlueJay drawing machine, but I could be mistaken.
