I think you could make an argument for WSU over (or equal to) several of the teams currently in the 20 to 25 range in the polls.

Regardless, you have to wonder where Simmons stands right now. What year is he into now? What's his overall record? How many times have the Aces avoided Thursday night under his watch?

He may be a good in-game coach but he just doesn't get the personnel into Evansville. Outside of Colt the Bolt Ryan, it just doesn't all come together at the right time. At the end of the day, in the coaching world, you are graded on wins and losses, not "competitive" basketball games.

Unless UE has low expectations for the basketball program, I have to wonder what Aces fans think of the subject. They were everybody's sexy pick to finish upper-half going into the year. And even with the logjam right now, they are in the picture, but also precariously close to another Thursday night outing.

Just some observations.

Again, respect is earned, not given.

There is no difference between basketball and life. Give both your best and ignore the "fans" on the sideline.

1. Call me a Nervous Nelly.

2. I worry more about beating Valley teams than NCAA tournament teams.

3. Ryan was 6-18 and scored 17 points. The Shocks played pretty good defense on him. If he is not guarded well, he will rip off your head and poop down your neck. He is a very fine player.

4. Ryan's forced 5 second call on Murray was disputed by the completely unbiased Shocker crowd, but I thought it was the right call. Ryan showed me something on that play. Ryan was supposed to be too tired to play that hard on defense, but he did play hard. For the game, Ryan played 39 minutes.

5. I am glad that the second half consisted of 20 minutes rather than 25 minutes. When the lead was cut to 8 with 4 to play, I got nervous like a Nervous Nelly would.

6. I thought Stutz played well on offense, but he was going up against a much shorter defender, which takes some of the luster off his performance. Nevertheless, he made some nice moves. He made a couple of nice base line moves, which were impressive. I think he is getting better as the season progresses.

7. I thought Demetric Williams was way more than the Aces could handle. I would bet anything that he was a sprinter in high school. That dude is lightning fast.

8. The Shocks could not guard the rim in the first half. Way too many easy baskets and dunks.

9. As we were driving home, Señora Rio said she hopes the Shockers do not play the Aces in STL. I suspect she knows what she is talking about.

10. I thought it was interesting the way Coach Marshall played Joe Ragland and Cotton with offensive and defensive switching in the last couple of minutes. Joe on offense and Cotton on defense.

11. I think UE was the first team to give the Shockers grief with backcourt pressure this season. I could be wrong. The Shockers are pretty good at breaking presses, but the Shocks had trouble tonight.

Sorry but for the last decade its always about how the Aces compete or don't quit. While they play hard and can surprse nyone...at the end of the season the results don't lie.

If you want respect, you have to move beyond the role of the spoiler.

I would be more concerned with your inability to pummel teams that you should pummel. You limped out of Evansville with a one possession win. You allow the Aces to come back and make it a 3 possesion game in the last 5 minutes. Hell, take away the 7 footer and I would love to see the outcome :)

This why It's not a A Wufans

And how many minutes did your injure 7 footer get tonight with that 25 point lead. The Aces got a lot of grief from the shockers fan for playin so many minutes in a determined game but the shockers leave a recovering player in for 35 of 40? What's up with that
good game Shoxs See you in St Louis.

Stutz went through a shoot-around just hours before the game and said he felt great, the doctors agreed that no further harm can be done so he can play as much as he likes. Bottom line is, the Shockers cannot afford to lose to the likes of Evansville and still maintain their status as an NCAA at-large team. Call it insurance, if you will. Winning is important. Not losing is equally as important.

Another moral victory for the Aces. Congrats to them.

16 of 19. 11 straight in Wichita.

Yep, I'm good with the game tonight. It was one of if not the best half Wichita had this year. We lose the game by 12. If we play this same game on the road from here on out then we probably will win all but 1 game on the road. I will take that.

I think in this age with information at your fingertips, I'm sure you can look up all your answers pretty quickly.

Last year, we got out of the dreaded Thursday night game with a 6 place finish and post season play. This year, I believe we will climb higher then last year, a top 5 finish, perhaps even a 3rd place finish. Next year, is a year most people have the feeling UE should compete for the top 2 spots. Although they will still lack a true center, they will have 2 Sophmores that gained valuable minutes this year. Not to mention a big guy signed for next year, probably can't expect much from a Freshman big though.

Thanks for your concern for our program though.
