3rd best team in the MVC is...

I want to say Missouri State, but I think it might be Illinois State. Of course on any given night it appears to be any number of teams. I would say at times Drake and Evansville look like they are right there. Finally, UNI could also look like the 3rd best team at times, even though they haven't come out on top of some of those games i.e. Wichita and Creighton.

It's too close to call. The entire middle has strengths and weaknesses. Without the big guy I think MSU slips. I'll St has the most talented front court. Drake has the one-two punch. UNI and UE have the most disciplined offense and are the most likely to put together a run of wins. All lack senior leadership.

I think Evansville but very close behind is Missouri St and Drake.

Toss up between Drake and Evansville. Obviously Drake has the leg up in the standings so far with the win at Ford Center. Both have a fairly equal schedule the rest of the way. Evansville has CU x 2, Drake has WSU x2. Both have one game each with Bradley, SIU, MSU and Indiana State.

The matchup in Des Moines is February 12.

Right now I'd peg MSU at 5th, but not far behind the Dogs and Aces.
