Actually the bubble is very weak this year, I think there was a chance for both of them. UNI has a quality win over Colorado St. (RPI 17) and a win over Iowa State (RPI 49) which is looking better all of the time. One more quality win along with a strong finish in the Valley and a good showing in the Arch Madness and I think they would be in the discussion. Unfortunately their Bracket Buster opponent probably won't give them the chance for the quality win that they need.
Same for Mo State. They have a quality win over CU (RPI 16) in Omaha and have at least 2 cracks at WSU. They also beat UNI which could be a RPI top 50 team if they finish strong. But unfortunately beating ODU (RPI 124) will do nothing to pad their resume. Mo. State really could have used a good opponent but like the other Valley schools didn't get one.
Right now both of these are not in the ncaa discussion, but they have enough on their resumes and enough good conference games left to have worked their way back onto the bubble (they were both there until recently). But they needed to get good Bracket Buster games to help them out, and neither one did. (Although UNI's is much better than MoState).
The Bracket Busters this year seems to be set up to help all of the Valley opponents not the Valley schools.
