1. UNI can't lose to anyone other than WSU or VCU, but not both and it must be a very close loss.
2. UNI must beat the remaining MVC teams by an average of 9+ points
3. WSU, CU, and VCU have to win out (outside of the UNI games)
4. UNI must make a run to the semi's to be in the room of discussion....title game to be in the discussion
5. A couple bubble teams need to falter pretty heaviliy.

So yes, it could happen...but likely won't.

What is disappointing is that yesterdays performance is what this team is capable of every night as we saw in OOC play. However, one bad loss started a chain reaction and a snowball event. However, I'm hoping that is starting to turn around.

BTW, once Mitchell finds his jump shot he will be damn near ungaurdable.

Way to many homers here. This is absurd! UNI has not a chance in hell to get an *gulp* at-large. They already have 7 losses in conference including *gulp* Bradley! You think they could even lose another game and still get an *gulp* at-large. This is baffling to me.

Nobody has said it was likely to happen. But it is still actually possible if UNI were to go on a big streak.

If UNI wins out the regular season, or even ends with just 1 more loss, they would be a 21-22 win team heading into Arch Madness, with wins over Iowa State, Colo St, Iowa, ODU, Creighton, and possibly Wichita and VCU to go along with a top 40-50 RPI in a top 8-10 league.

Yep....if you look at my list I said every single one of those things has to happen...which won't.

An equally rediculous question:

Can MSU or Ill St win the MVC regular conference this year?

The answer: YES

If either one wins out and WSU and CU lose out (with the victor of the head-to-head finishing 12-8) then MSU or Ill St could tie for 1st in the Valley!

Too bad UNI can't play CU everytime, seems like they show up when CU comes to town but not so with other teams...

I am saying if they win out they still do not get a bid or with 1 loss and then another loss in the finals that would be 9 losses to MVC teams. Not a chance. Not even a possible chance. 0% chance. They get in if they win the tourney. That's it!

If they finish 8-1 to get to 24-10, you'd be hard pressed to keep them out with some of their wins.

Likely? No. But strange things happen all the time

The valley has not gotten respect in recent years, nor has many mid major conference. They try to find ways to not let you in and I think Bradley, Evansville at home, and even Illinois State and Indiana State can be seen as rough loses. Especially because some of these teams are going to do awful in the valley tourney since someone has to lose. I would see teams like Illinois get in over UNI because that is the way it works. I hope I am wrong but I don't think I am.

I think you are correct, but the question was not whether UNI would get selected but whether UNI could play their way back on the bubble? The answer to that question is absolutely YES. The RPI for UNI is around 50 right now, only one more loss the rest of the way and they will probably stay in the top 50, possibly even with two losses. UNI will be a team talking heads will point at and then leave on the outside because of our bad losses while contorting however they can to justify that 8th or 9th or 10th Big 10+2 or ACC or Big East team. Lunardi may even tease us with being in his sets of first or second 4 out for the last few weeks.

Let me be clear, I don't think we get an at-large in any way this year, but we will be mentioned with the bubble teams. More than 1 or 2 losses and we are done from even that list.
