Most people don't have too much issue with it, warrented or not. Double Jay, OTOH, thanks its bush league and beneath his alma mater.

Been going to CU games for a decade now. My wife and I were driving home trying to think of how many instances CU fans have rushed the court and I can only think of 4 in that time frame; this being the 4th. The other three were in St. Louis when the Jays won the Valley Tournament. I do agree that rushing the court was probably not necessary last night against LBSU; unranked, non-bcs, etc. However, I don't think it was the worst thing in the world either as let's be honest, after the drubbing the Shocks put on Creighton a week ago and another loss at home late to LBSU probably takes Creighton out of at-large talk. This was a huge win. I will say as far as an atmosphere goes, it was late, the booze was "pooling" up and emotions were high with the suspect calls by the refs (both ways), and this was one of the best Creighton home game atmospheres, especially the last 5 minutes, we have had in awhile.

Congrats on a very good comeback and a very good win over a good Long Beach State team.

The Valley really needed that one. Fortunately, the Shocks and Bluejays bookended the day nicely against good opponents on national TV.

Those wins will go along way in securing the Valley multiple bids this year.

I'm hoping the Shocks and Creighton meet up again for a rubber match in the championship game of Arch Madness.

BTW, I hope that cheerleader that Dougie McD nearly decapitated in the court storming is OK.

Kyle, you omitted acouple of other things I said about the UNI-CU game. I noted that it was sold out days in advance, it was your largest crowd all year, that UNI fans were all lathered up about the return of the Mcdermotts, etc. This game was not a sell out by CU, nor was it our largest crowd. But yes, the court storming (whether by drunk students or not) was stupid. FWIW, I honestly can't remember the last time Creighton students stormed the court at home....
There was no opportunity for CU to storm the court for their record setting crowd...
The record has been broken several times this year. The biggest crowd before the WSU game was the preceding game against Bradley (the pinkout).

Some of you need to get over yourselves. As a CU fan I think charging the court was kind of dumb, but who really cares? I am pretty sure it was the first time in the nearly 10 year history of that building where the students charged the court. You all make it sound like it's a daily occurrence. You rip on Creighton fans for being too quiet and also when they're considered to be too enthusiastic. You can't give have it both ways, give me a break. Also, whoever made the comment "you can tell Creighton is a Catholic institution" needs to keep the religion slams out of it. And for the record, I had absolutely no problem when UNI stormed the court. They made a buzzer beater to beat a top 15 team. I don't know where the shame is in that. The people ripping on CU need to get over the obsession with one CU poster. It's clouding your judgment.

I am afraid the outcome says way more about Long Beach than the Blue Birds.

LBS was so damn careless with the ball. They had at least 6 and maybe 8 unforced turnovers. Mainly it was the ball just dribbling off their hands and rolling out of bounds.

While number 22, Casper Ware , has the potential to be a good player, he is far from one at this moment. He is selfish and almost refuses to give up the ball. He forced up several prayer shots, while well defended.

Dougie scored virtually all of his field goals in the deep paint. LBS's defense was just awful. This comment is not to disparage Dougie because he played extra well and took advantage of everything that LBS game him. Dougie has a great awareness around the basketball. He just has a great sense of knifing his way through a jungle of bodies and scoring - layups, tips, dunks.

In the future, CU has to do something about its lack of athleticism.

Crazy thing is that Ware was making most of those prayer shots, especially in the first half. The only time we stopped him was when Chatman guarded him at the end of the game.

And one more thang.

If the Blue Birds had lost the game, it would have been their fourth loss in five games.

Then Ace Dad's question about the NCAA bubble would have been ominous.
