It seems to be OK for InSU, UNI, MSU, and CU fans to brag, boast, and taunt others about their recent accomplishments, but if WSU has any success, WSU fans need to go into "Kumbaya" mode. Not even the "bad" WSU fans have gone "scoreboard" or anything resembling that after the Shox dominated the league this year, but WSU fans still seem to be the "bad boys" of MVCFans.

You're not going to get any of the long-term reasonable WSU fans out here. They've checked it out, seen the attitudes and will NEVER come here. You might see a bunch of bandwagon newby WSU fans. There's nothing worse than brand new bandwagon fans who feel they are being insulted by "inferior" fans.

That seems to be the opinion of a lot of people on here. Just in the past couple of weeks I seen CU, Evansville, INSU, and WSU fans state they get no love on here. In reality (I'm guilty as well) people need to realize not everyone loves your specific team and are going to be more critical.

This site is extremely well moderated, thanks MVCFans!

MVCFANS has been a tremendous site. Front page info, etc is top notch and up to date. Very rare for a conference board.
Just because you might have got your panties in a wad, no excuse not to be here. Where else can you communicate with fellow Valley fans.

Kudo's to MVCFANS. Appreciate the efforts.

If they aren't on this board how are the going to read this post? ;)

Speaking of which is anyone else a little concerned that Baller and MoValleyJohn have not been around lately? (Or did I miss something)

I'm kind of surprised that thread didn't get deleted, I've had tamer posts deleted. I guess when all you are doing is copy & pasting posts from other fans it's kind of hard to justify deleting it.

I miss MVC John. Don't miss baller at all.

Aargh are you kidding me? You really think there is a double standard regarding WSU and their fans??? All of the fanbases on here take their share of criticism at times. There is no double standard. If there is any bias at all against WSU it would be due to a certain WSU fan that was/is the absolute worst poster on this board with the trolling type comments. I know all fanbases have one or 2 of those but.......this guy is over the top.

This is a great board. I've really learned a lot about MVC basketball since I've been on this board. Including who Mitch Holthus is

If that's him he's certainly been a lot more subdued. And I've got no problem with him on this board if he stops posting hit and run inflammatory remarks.

Back in the late '90's there was a Big12 board. It was dropped because it was impossible to moderate with the speed at which fans of the various schools absolutely trashed each other. Most posts mentioned body parts, incestual ancestry (or marriage), bestiality, oedipal tendencies, or the occasional vegetable (such as an ear of corn). The entertainment value was the level of creativity in insulting each other.

Last time I checked, The CAA doesn't have a "league" board, but has one board (or possibly site) that contains all the individual schools boards. Posters there are always presented with other boards when going to visit their own. That makes it too easy to go on opponent's boards. When CAA fans go on other team's boards, it gets very ugly very quickly.

It is very difficult to have a "league" board. Fans of one school often REALLY don't care for fans of another school. The integration of trash talk into sports and sports talk shows makes it easy for fans to go that route.

All message boards develop cliches, which some fans find offensive, but you have to learn to accept some things with slightly thick skin.

There's sCUm, WSUcks, "Getting Evansville'd", "Points in garbage time" (any points scored by Colt Ryan), "pullng an MSU" (snatching defeat from the jaws of victory). If you will notice, there are no active cliches referring to SIU. The cliches don't stick unless there is some level of respect for your team by other fans. Oddly enough, disrespecting a team is a sign of respect for that team. There's no point in disrespecting those who have not earned any.

Hmm, there's a filter on s-C-U-m, but not on W-S-U-c-k-s.

I've been on this site since day one and was a semi-regular VT poster, but have literally never read a post referring to WSU as WSUcks.

Shocker fans need to just relax and stop being so self conscious. Nobody is out of get you. Just enjoy the great season your team is having.
