I am sure if CU and WSU was not a lock for NCAA and some other two teams were in their place their answer would still be 2 bids or better then 3.

It also sounds like if another team does win the tournament then that team will be blamed for the seed that either WSU or CU gets.

IF
3-10 doesn't win
THEN
I'd like to see a 1-2 final

I believe we will see a 3-10 team in the finals, not that it would be a huge suprise, but the intesity will be greater than the first week of games. We all saw and have seen the perceived upsets all year long when big games are on the line. It may be a 7-10 team in the finals.
Wichita and Creighton will have to step it up as much as much any other team. If I was a coach I wouldn't rely on "Monday morning non-comittee member sure fire your-in opinions".

I might have misunderstood, but I think the premise was what would be best for the Valley.

And of course the that team will be blamed. WSU and CU performed all year, and would be penalized for some neutral court fiasco. Everyone already knows who the best 2 teams are...by a wide margin. Everyone else gets a 2nd chance while bringing very little to the table. It's nothing new for the most part. Personally I've always hated the post season tourney, but it is what it is.

It's not as thought Creighton, or even WSU waltzed through the conference season. I don't think Drake should be blamed for beating WSU again or Evansville, UNI, or MSU should be blamed for beating Creighton again.

WSU went 16-2 in conference, with most of their wins resulting in a double-digit margin. What is your definition of "waltz"?

3 teams. period.

I don't want to hear any whining from WSU and CU fans saying that better seeding for them would be better for the valley. More teams is always better. Otherwise we are known as the conference that only has 1 good team every year.

It's not like you aren't going to have a favorable seeding in the first round regardless. If anyone doesn't think WSU will do well in the NCAA tourney regardless of where they are seeded then they are crazy. Same goes for CU. Take care of your own business in the NCAA tourney and you will be fine. Stop worrying about what a 3rd team could do to your chances. It sounds like you are already trying to build in an excuse. Just win.

Only in the MVC do we talk about "penalizing" teams for trying to win games. CU and WSU are definitely the best two teams in the conference, but if they come out half-hearted and lose to a team they "should beat" whose fault is that really?

I stated this earlier but it got lost. CBB this year is the story of the top 8 teams, then they next 20, then everyone else. If CU or WSU lose, they could end up a 7-10 seed playing Duke, Marquette, UNC, Syracuse, or Kansas in the second round. Very easily a one-and-done. No press, no stories, no recruiting bump.

If, however, they are a 3, 4, 5 or 6 seed, they are playing UNLV, Indiana, Wisconsin, or Louiville in the second round, and looking at a good shot at a sweet 16. That is 5 days of front page stories on how the MVC has two in the sweet 16. More press, and everything that comes along with it. The other 8 schools also benefit as Sportscenter shows clips all week, and hopefully their ADs step up to keep up.

Of course root for your team to pull the upset and go dancing. If any of us complain, just use the :Bam: and laugh and go on your way. But, it is a legitimate arguement that 2 dancing with high seeds is better than 3. Not saying I am right, but it is a legitimate arguement.

2 teams in the Sweet 16 is better than 3 teams one and done, end of discussion.

It would be nice to have both, but 2 teams with top 6 seeds dramatically improve the chances of advancing.
