As the old OJays' song goes:

"For the Love of Money."

Winning=Money

Money=Exoectation of Winning

Win or Go Home

Understand.

Unfortunately, small schools like drake & evansville are stuck with their underperforming coaches, no money to hire top talent, less money to buyout the mediocre talent.

Fanspeak.

Define underperforming.

Define mediocre.

I am not willing to label Marty Simmons as underperforming at this point, nor would the three voters who voted him Coach of the Year.

So, is Greg McDermott a good coach?

So, is Bruce Weber a good coach?

Or, do you place "fanspeak" monikers on their time at their Big 10 stops?

They were good in the Valley, a tough basketball league, but did not or could not sustain the winning to the fan bases' expectations.

So, if Coach McDermott and Coach Weber are underperforming and mediocre, why are they so successful in the tough MVC?

Hint, you are labeling.

underperforming: back to back top recruiting classes and still in the play in game

mediocre: consistently finishing with a .500 record

Expectations aren't very high in Des Moines or Evansville. As a Drake fanatic, I'd be happy with a NIT bid in the next two years. And obviously, most Ace fans are satisfied with CBI/CTI buy in games. :D :D ;)

btw, congrats to the aces on a winning record this season. :dance: :dance:

If you cannot debate with the big boys, stay off the board.

Again, are Weber and McDermott good coaches?

No fanspeak.

Both are better coaches than Drake or Evansville will ever have unfortunately.

Come back and answer the question after graduation. I know it is too analytical and nuanced for you ;)
