FOR THE RECORD, regarding the press conference you all are dog-piling over:

Marshall asked three separate individuals for permission to go into the media conference room to get it over with.

In all three cases, permission was granted. Gregg Marshall was ready and no one from the conference office denied his request.

I guess you'll need to spice up another story to replace this one, then you can all be outraged over that instead. Enjoy!

Quite the strategy and the "strange things" seemed to allow it. Bravo on the plan, but yes, I did lose respect for him then.

A real surprise that the infamous baller buys into the conspiracy theory.

Who said anything about a "conspiracy theory"? My comments were not directed towards the officiating, but rather the Illinois State coach. Was there a conspiracy created about Jankovich that I may have missed?

Stop trolling and try to add some valuable commentary instead of one-upping each post that slams WSU. Surely, you can add more to the conversation than "That's the funniest thing I've ever seen" after every WSU swipe or a sidetrack comment that adds nothing to the conversation.

You're starting to turn into the one person you constantly rail about on here. Add something to the conversation or zip it.

And as a follow-up, this question:

Where was Jank as Marshall performed his post-game media conference duties?

A. Standing in the media room, feeling abused by Big Bad Bully Gregg
B. Nowhere in the vicinity

Select one as you answer.

Wow Baller. Pretty interesting that a senior laden (BATTLE TESTED) team couldn't adjust to a physical game vs. a bunch of unproven juniors and soph's. Didn't take much for Wilkins to get into Stutz's head, huh?

Hope to God you boys don't get matched up with one of the big ten bruising teams like Michigan State or even a Cincy. You would probably lose some respect for Izzo then too.

Just my 2 cents here, but you guys are Conference Champs. Don't be mad that we didn't roll over and let you guys out work us. We certainly WERE NOT in awe of you guys. We respect what you have accomplished, but that doesn't mean we weren't going to fight you tooth and nail.

Maybe next time you guys will be ready for it. I do wish you guys well moving forward.

Mel,

You know I have the utmost respect for Illinois State and especially their fans. They are still second favorite on my list of Valley foes.

There were certain things that I didn't see before from Illinois State that showed up this game. If Jank's style was consistent every time, then that's one thing. But this is the first I've seen of these tactics. Wilkins dirtied the game up in a way I've never even noticed before. There's one thing to fire a team up and play with great intensity. But it's another to start shoving guys in the back and trying to get them in a fist fight 5 minutes into the game. Again, I never noticed this before. I would be much more kind to this type of strategy if it were used on a consistent basis than in a one game showdown. I also didn't really think it was cool for Jank to high-five Wilkins after he was ejected following his second technical. I would think most coaches in that type of situation wouldn't be high-fiving their players after those type of fouls. It wasn't just one, it was two technicals and an ejection. Again, I didn't expect that kind of reaction. That's where I lost respect.

After that, Illinois State just played the better game and took it to WSU. They hit big shots and played great defense. They deserved to win.

Good luck to you in whatever tournament you may be in.
