Hopefully you get NIT.

Shox got 5 straight games on ESPN out of it last year. To me that was a huge positive.

Lots of upsets so even if you don't host the first round, it is possible to have a home game later, unless you are an 7 or 8 seed but those generally go to conf champs of lower level conferences.

Evansville will also be hosting a CBI or CIT game (apparently both tournaments are interested in inviting Evansville :?)

Wichita St got a lot of good exposure from the NIT run last year. The other tournaments seem to be more about getting extra court practice time against average opponents, still better than scrimmaging your teammates, but not very exciting for fans or players.

Take it seriously and support your team. I firmly believe CU got a lot out of last season's alphabet tourney and wouldn't have been as successful this year (especially early in the year) without it.

It may sound stupid, but I enjoyed the tourney run CU made last year. I don't expect non diehards to understand or care, but it was fun to see the team start to come together.

I agree and think it's a valuable experience for a team to compete in the CBI or CIT. There seems to be a precedent for doing well in one of those lesser tournaments translating into success the next year. MSU in the CIT 2 years ago and then WSU (NIT) and CU last year.

And the tournament can be a lot of fun. My son and I attended every CIT game MSU was in and we enjoyed the experience. It's understandable that the Bears decided not to pursue one of the lesser tournaments given how badly our season ended. But it's still disappointing.

The Valley really needs for teams that won the regular season championship to win the conference tournament in some of the smaller conferences. This means a team will not be taking away a NIT bid from either ISU or UNI or possibly both. It hasn't been going too well in that regard yet. Luckily SDSU pulled out the win in OT. We will just have to see how it plays out.

Except SDSU didn't win their conference, ORU did.

Count me in the club of thinking ORU, Drexel, and Iona still deserve a bid to the Dance but we all know how that will work.

Did not realize that. That means we were pretty hurt recently. VCU, WKU, SDSU, and Detroit. Could be rough for Valley teams looking to get in the NIT.
