Not in the literal sense, but there was physical contact. And it was pretty embarrassing. I felt bad for Doug.
Youtube it if you don't recall.

Well that's the truth. Not in the literal sense, but more like the tin foil hat wearing, conspiracy believing, I will make up things and consider them to be truth sense.

Epic, epic reach. MCDermott didn't break any rules.

Defend Marshall or don't defend Marshall, but don't make up rules and then allege they were broken to try and deflect attention elsewhere. Your coach broke rules and protocol. Then he got his wrist slapped by the commissioner like a little child. Then WSU fans lash out because they are embarrassed.

So because McDermott didn't break any rules, it doesn't make it embarrassing? It got some run on SportsCenter that night, if I recall. Commentators were stating their disapproval from the berating. What do you think, were you embarrassed or did you think it was fine because it was your coach and he was just "instilling discipline?" Bobby Knight didn't break any rules on the court either. I'd say McDermott's actions that day, in particularly that timeout, were very Knight-like. Deny it all you want to.

I'm definitely not embarrassed. Like I've already stated, I'm proud to have Marshall as my coach. As others have stated, you will take it to the grave your disdain for Marshall, WSU, and the city of Wichita. WSU fans may be biased but you have the same biases in the other direction. He got wrist-slapped. Big freaking whoop. I certainly could care less.

Instead of talking about the upcoming NCAA's, instead of talking about a Creighton Valley Tournament Championship, the majority of this board would rather continue the pile on about a reprimand. Let's keep repeating the same thing over and over. WSU will always be the hot topic on here. Nobody can ever get enough.

Gregggggg spoke and everyone (but WSU fans) HEARD what he said. And what he said spoke volumes about what he thought.

Not real hard to figure out if you have above a 2nd grade education.

Well Jay. It is not my fault you are poorly educated.

If you believe gobbly gook, it is fine with me.

Tell me. What am I thinking about your education at this very moment?

And I am willing to bet a large amount of money that my academic achievement far exceeds your achievement, either in number of degrees or g.p.a. Let me know.

Sure Baller, you aren't embarrassed at all. That's why you continue to defend/justify Marshall's behavior.

That's the difference between WSU fans and Creighton fans. We don't feel the need to start threads about winning the championship like WSU posters did. We don't complain about moderators not congratulating us soon enough after the game. We know we won it and don't feel the need to rub it in everybody's faces. Instead, we complement our competitors for a well fought game.

Jay, we all know that the reason you all don't get over-excited about Creighton is that your first love is Nebraska. We can tell your heart isn't in this Creighton thing. If Nebraska had ever done one single notable thing in the history of college basketball you would have never have come to this site one time.

When the MVC reprimands the officials for letting Wilkins put a knee into Stutz nads (repeatedly - the replay is available on ESPN) without a call, I will say that Marshall overreacted.

When the MVC reprimands Wilkins for calling Stutz a "M***** F***** B**** A** N*****" and gives Stutz a T for responding with "What" - Check the replay - that's what Stutz said, then I will say that Marshall overreacted.

When the MVC reprimands Jankovich for allowing Wilkins to use a leg-lock WWE take-down followed by an elbow to the face, I will think Marshall overreacted.

I don't think it's any exaggeration to say that "some strange things happened" in that game. It's also not much of a stretch to comment that that game didn't appear to be a neutral court game. In other words, Marshall might expect that treatment in a road game, but not on a neutral court.

Marshall deserved a reprimand but the Valley deserves one too for allowing a game to be played the way that one was played. I think Marshall has a right to stand up for his players and not let them be abused by "strange" officiating.

When a coach acts like a child, and has to be publicly scolded by the conference it tends to be a story that people want to discuss. There is no "piling on" WSU. Its a legitimate discussion about a legitimate story.

And on top of that, there are people like you that are completely fabricating a story about McD to try and deflect away from WSU, and people like 2livewu saying that nobody else can or will be relevant as long as Marshall is around. It tends to stir up some talk and negativity toward your Shockers.

Aargh, bad officiating is an unfortunate part of the game of basketball. If you and your team feels like they did not get the benefit of some calls, that's fine. It happens, all the time, to everyone.

But a head coach or player can never come out and blame or question the motives of officials like that. Its just something you don't do. Even here on message boards, posters will be almost universally mocked each and every time that they blame officiating after a loss. To see that behavior from a head coach in a public forum is just wrong.
