Once again people-

Everyone has different opinions.

You can beat the dead horse all you want - it will have no affect. Even if either side gets the last word in - it doesn't matter. Life goes on...for some.

Double is a lawyer. He has to get the last word in. It is in his genes.

It is much easier to say, "You win the argument or debate."

I wonder who has the most posts in this thread.

Now watch Jankovic's press conference after his loss to CU. Do a little compare and contrast and tell me which coach took the high road.. It's not even close fyi.

I personally think a team's demeanor is directly related to their coach. CU under altman would be tense in tight situations, under McDermott they seem to be more calm and collected (notable exception being the WSU debacle where he tried to light a fire under them and it didn't work out too well) and with Gregg, when things get tough its time to whine and scream at others, notably the officials..

For me, WSU's tourney game is a win-win for me. If they lose I can't wait to see whose to blame this time around, and if they win, well thats good for the valley.

Can't really compare the two games really, can't compare the two positions of each team, the circumstances, the situations. Jank is not an emotional guy in the sense that Marshall is. No two human beings are the same.

I'm sure most coaches feel or think the same things Marshall does in certain situations. I'm sure every coach lets his team know of such things behind closed doors. Marshall is just more candid and not as afraid to voice his true feelings in the heat of the moment. While it may not be the best approach, it's how he reacts. And thus, he gets a 11-page thread dedicated to him.

We now know Marshall is an evil person and is really hated and can't temper his emotions in the way opposing fans feel he should. That's about what I've got out of this thread.

I do appreciate the few opposing fans who have tried to remain "neutral" and look from a different point of view, including the recent opinion of an Illinois State fan, 45otseoj. Thanks for sharing.

Anything new in the last 5 pages, or is more of the same old same old?

Good luck to WSU and CU in the NCAA, and to all the other MVC teams that will be playing in whichever tourney.

No nothing new. I dropped out of the conversation a couple days back. Also, had my feelings hurt when some WSU fan called me a sanctimonious choir boy. Don't remember now who it was.

I'm not even sure why I am posting now other than I am the one that started this thread and I feel bad with all the animosity that has come to the surface. However, I originally posted with the subject title "what does a public reprimand mean?" I didn't know if there is a punishment coupled with it or if it was merely a mild slap on the wrist. That's all I wanted to know. Someone changed the title to include Gregg Marshall and away we went.

I am an ISU fan and some of the things that have been said bothered me but it's time to move on and wish all Valley teams that are in post season tournaments the best of luck. I think it would be great if WSU & CU both made the final four.

There isn't a conspiracy against WSU or a vendetta against Gregg Marshall. The reality is that WSU has GM as its coach because of Elgin and now you all think Elgin is out to get him and WSU?

That guy has pulled the wool over the eyes of many, many Shocker fans. He's a wolf in sheep's clothing. He'll say all the right things to the WSU fans and they'll love him for it. But he isn't fooling anyone else.

He can put a team together -- I'll never deny that -- but he's not a victim here.

It's 100% incorrect? So he is not respectful to his players? Did he by chance berate and headbutt one of them on the sidelines of a major game? I'd be interested in any proof you have of that. I have personally never seen a case of Marshall not being respectful to people, with the possible exception of this where he may or may not have cut off the ISU coach for the press conference, and said mean things about the MVC. I have never seen any controversy about him being disrespectful to any member of his team or anyone around the WSU program.

Maybe I missed some key piece of information that makes him a monster ... it's entirely possible. I'd like to read the story if you can link one. I'd assume that from calling him Bob Knight, Jr., you of course have stories that have him choking his players, assaulting police officers, and throwing potted plants at college officials.

I didn't say he was a victim. I said comparing him to Bob Knight is stupid. I also specifically said any sort of conspiracy theory is stupid ... the fact is that WSU shot 33%, and didn't score a FG for the final 7 minutes of the game, so of course they lost. And I said that the opinions of people who are not WSU fans about WSU's coach is less than meaningless. I'm sure they hate your coach, too.

I haven't been here in a while. Read this thread the other day and checked back today to see if the fire was out. I have no opinion on the matter, other than if it were me, I might have done exactly the same thing Marshall did, I don't know.

That said, I feel compelled to say, I have had nothing to do with this debacle of a thread.
There are three rules that I live by, never get less than 12 hours sleep, never gamble with a guy who has the same first name as a city and never get involved with a chick with a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Stick to that and everything else is gravy!

being a conspiracy theorist myself, I agree with Marshall that Elgin conspires against the evil empire of Wichita St whenever possible. Elgin wants to protect his job, what better way than to protect the small against the big mean Shox? 8-)
