If that's the case, so be it. Gotta love how the committee picks and chooses a different thing to emphasize every couple of years, though. One year it's road wins, another it's non-conference schedules, another its overall RPI. I just wish they'd stay consistent or something so teams could be proactive rather than reactive.

Good point. But, there is a different committee every year as well.

I like that they emphasized SOS though, as they rewarded some teams who played tough schedules, especially on the road. That's why Iona got in. Overall, we shouldn't be too upset was we this is the most mid-majors in since 2004.

I'm just glad they matched Creighton up with a mid-level power conference team and not someone like VCU, who I think is incredibly dangerous.

Uh... Alabama beat both VCU and WSU this year, they are not chopped liver. I expect CU to win but to argue that VCU is a notch above Alabama is a tough one to make. In fact they are both on about the same level in my eyes. This sounds lame but I wouldn't be surprised if the MVC went 0-2 in the first round or if they went 2-0.

Personally I love the VCU matchup. I think these seniors and any other players that were on the team last year want another shot at them. Plus Marshall is typically pretty good at revenge games. Bring it on! Nothing too scary until Kentucky, and even they are beatable. It'll just take a VERY good game to do it. Gotta play the best at some point...let's get it on!

I think CU can win, but I won't be picking them in my bracket. Alabama is tough team, tough defensive team.

Alabama would have gotten a higher seed if they hadn't had player problems in the middle of the season. They could have easily been a 3 or 4 seed without those problems.

They are pretty much back at full strength now.....I wouldn't look past them.

I think VCU and Alabama are about equal right now. VCU is playing ALOT better than at the start of the season while Alabama is playing worse than when they played WSU. They lost one of their best players to suspension, they don't shoot the 3 well and they aren't playing well recently.....as for possible second round matchups, obviously UNC will be alot tougher than IU. I don't see how WSU is 3 seeds better than CU. My guess was that CU was probably a 7 but they moved them to 8 so they could get a Barnes/McDermott matchup.

I guess I should have been more clear. I don't think Creighton is gonna roll Alabama, but rather my point being that I'm glad they get to play a team like that opposed to say a team from a conference similar to the Missouri Valley. Creighton will have to find a way to overcome the athleticism gap that will be present between themselves and Alabama. It will be fun to watch.

Once again, it's frustrating that an MVC team gets matched up with another mid-major. On top of that, the NCAA does everything they can to prevent a Sweet 16 run by Creighton. Is there anything worse than an 8-9 seed? You'd be better off as a 10.

UNI did fine with a 9 seed. Have to beat good teams to move on every round, might as well start with some very good ones. Get by Bama and have half the stadium in Greensboro on your side wearing Duke blue, won't look too out of place for the Jays.

If WSU can get by VCU I like their chances in the 2nd round even more with Indiana down a key player. VCU won't be an easy game, but the Shockers saw them last year and have faced a pressure team in UNLV earlier. Attack, attack with the guards and I think WSU will be fine. They are deep enough to rotate in and not let the constant pressure wear them down.
